From Eats & Treats, then registered as Esmie's Catering Services, I thought we would continue on this path smooth sailing, but then the COVID-19 pandemic hit and in a dream, God instructed me to pause this business.

It was gut-wrenching for me. I poured so much into this business, but I also needed the time to rest. For those who know me personally, they can attest that I can be a 'bit' of a workaholic. On the go like a bunny rabbit eh... lol!!!

The Journey continues...

While I could only see a speck, not the full picture, God was making room for us to expand. I would see the signs often which read "Time to Expand!" I knew it was God and my spirit connected that this was His word for me, but how would this happen?

Starting over, not from scratch, but from experience has been rewarding thus far. Now named, Esmie's Meals & Devotionals Catering Services has uncovered that He was not just giving me a business to serve people with meals, desserts and juices, but also to nourish their souls with our 'Manna from Heaven' Christian devotional series.

The Process. The Journey. The Call...

He has added so many layers to His vision.
He promises to uncover them throughout the years to come, as I remain committed.
I still can't believe that I operate a food business, but I am thankful that in this small beginning, His will prevails.

I did not think that I would have ever gotten the business idea to operate a catering service. I did not think this was even a business to consider, but I have come to learn in my own faith walk with God that His thoughts and ways are really not our own.

My first time that I remember writing about owning a food business came around the year 2015 and He solidified this in the year 2018. Back then, I named this business Eats & Treats and on Friday, May 25th for the very first time catered 10 lunches to 10 customers.

The Power of Ten

We were brand new in the marketplace and with no prior experience except my submission to this business God had been calling us to do, I decided or perhaps I should say forced by circumstances beyond our control to push through with the idea.

To note, us being my family and I.

I did. We did. God exceeded our Expectations.
.. So he named it Rehoboth [Roomy] and said, “Now the Lord has made room for us, and we will prosper in this land.” Genesis 26 verse 22b

One thing for sure and another thing for certain is that our customers have always praised that in every bite, they can taste the love. It is on this premise that gave birth to our slogan, "You Choose. We Cater with Love!"

In the book of Joshua 21 verse 45, it reads, "Every single good promise that the LORD had given the nation of Israel came true." This is the God's Word Translation (GW).

I have always been a dreamer. Ever since I was a little girl in Prep School, I dreamed of being an entrepreneur one day. But deciding the field took a toll on me throughout the years. I thought, something must have been wrong with me, because I would get different business ideas, but culture had conditioned us that we must choose one career path and stick by it until the age of retirement. And though I chose to use the past tense of the word 'conditioned', I do believe in some regard, it still plagues us today in some aspects.

My first memory of writing out a business idea was at the age of 10 years old. It was for a fashion boutique store. I still have my pink book till this day.

And the ideas continued throughout the years...
