It’s back-to-school week and, apparently, we’re heading back to school too.

This Friday & Saturday, 11-12 September, we’re off to Regen Gathering Jersey at Le Tâcheron Farm - and we’re really proud to be going along to do two of our favourite things: learn and feed people.

We’ll be dishing up plenty of lovely local flavours while also sneaking away whenever we can to listen, ask questions and learn from some pretty incredible people about food, farming, soil, biodiversity and how we can all do things a little better. This year there are more than 50 talks and demos from 70 local and international speakers, so there’s plenty for us to get our heads around.

We certainly don’t have all the answers - Chris is still working on the terminology - but that’s exactly why we’re going.

🌈✨ September feels… prideful ✨🌈

As Pride CI heads to our sister isle this year, we’re throwing it back to last summer in Jersey - dancing, laughing, loving, and serving up good vibes in our little Silent Disco zone with Club Tropicana energy turned all the way up.

A huge thank you to the Pride CI organisers for having us be part of such a joyful, welcoming celebration. It meant the world to share food, music and colour with such an incredible crowd.

To everyone heading to Guernsey Pride this year - we’re sending love, glitter and the very best vibes across the water. Dance hard, celebrate louder than ever, and know we’re cheering you on from Jersey. 💛

We’re clocking off a little early today… 🌻🌘🥔

The Pantry will be closing at 5pm today so the Kismet crew can head outside together for a little solar eclipse gazing session.

Because some things are worth stopping for.

Jersey’s eclipse begins at around 6.21pm, reaching its peak at 7.17pm - and we intend to make the most of this rather special moment in the sky.

And here’s something we’ve been completely fascinated by: researchers studying spruce trees during a previous eclipse recorded their electrical activity beginning to synchronise around 14 hours before the eclipse, with older trees showing the strongest early response. Scientists are still debating exactly what caused it and what it means, but the idea of a forest responding collectively to what’s happening above us feels pretty magical. 🌳✨

So today, we’re taking a rare opportunity to stop working, get the team together and look up.

The Pantry closes at 5pm today.

No animal products? No Gluten? No Nuts? No problem.

We loved crafting this all-vegan gf menu for one of our recent weddings - a feast that left plates licked clean and guests happily satisfied. Sadly, the team were so busy serving that they didn’t manage to capture all the snaps 📸, but here are a few of the highlights.

The menu included our rather delicious Sri Lankan banana blossom ‘(f)ish’ cakes with fragrant Sri Lankan curry sauce and pickled red chilli, falafels with whipped sun-blushed tomato and vegan feta, tomato and basil bruschetta on gluten-free crostini, crispy smoked tofu with vegan jerk mayo and pineapple salsa, fresh Vietnamese rice paper spring rolls with a candied ginger, soy and sesame dipping sauce, smoky Texas pulled jackfruit subs, Beyond Burgers, gluten-free local vegetable pasta, and our signature slaw.

Proof that plant-based doesn’t mean missing out on flavour. 🌱🔥
