One more from way back. I really admired this boy’s directness and curiosity. It’s one of the few that I was grateful to show from this series in 2018 or 2019. This boy watched the handsy couple for the entire half hour we were in line for some slide or other. I hope this kid was able to stay curious.

We are all in this together. This is the moment when you have ZERO other worries except for the monster bucket of water dumped on your head. We are all just humans trying to keep our selves and our families happy and safe. This oil painting resides somewhere in California. I think it’s about 30” x 40”.

When looking for a very large canvas to use for my next project, I found this 4’ x 5’ painting.
I never showed it anywhere because I didn’t want anyone to think I was judging this mom to be anything other than the hero that she is. Even though she doesn’t have a swimsuit, she put her tiny daughter into a cute suit and life jacket, braided her hair, and paid for their entrance into Six Flags.

Gotta share. This is a night blooming cereus (not sure the name of this particular example but I bought it at and I’ve cared for this plant for 12 years and it’s finally bloomed. I bought it in maybe a 4” pot and was told it would take around 10 years to bloom. Worth the wait? I think so. Isn’t it gorgeous? The Night-Blooming Cereus (most commonly Epiphyllum oxypetalum) is a striking tropical cactus famous for its large, fragrant white flowers that open only at night. Native to Central and South America, it thrives in warm, humid environments.
