During Biennale Arte week, Venice moves at a different rhythm, especially when it comes to invitation-only events unfolding across the city’s most extraordinary venues.

For this special evening at Fondazione Giorgio Cini, our role was to ensure that every movement behind the scenes felt effortless: coordinating the boats transporting guests across the lagoon, managing arrivals and departures, and overseeing the guest access team throughout the event.

Invisible when perfectly executed, logistics is in fact one of the most strategic aspects of high-profile events in Venice. Timing, flows, water traffic, guest experience and discretion all need to work in harmony, and when Venice decides to welcome guests with rain, everything becomes even more delicate and complex.

This is when preparation, local knowledge and the ability to adapt in real time truly make the difference.

What guests experience is elegance, beauty and flow. What happens behind the scenes is coordination, precision and problem solving.

During Biennale weeks, Venice becomes one of the most complex cities in the world to manage logistically: water transportation, tight timings, historical venues, international guests, technical productions and last-minute changes all happening simultaneously. Our role is to make all of this feel seamless.

Over the years, I had the privilege of building a long-standing relationship with , beginning in the early 1990s, and of collaborating closely with Pinault Collection for almost two decades. These experiences have allowed us to develop not only deep operational expertise, but also a genuine understanding of the rhythm, standards and discretion required by the international art world in Venice.

From venue scouting to guest logistics, production management, supplier coordination and on-site assistance, we support every stage of the event experience with a fully tailored approach. Because in Venice, details are never just details.

After the intense tour de force of Biennale Arte opening week, we are finally back at our desks, reconnecting with all the other beautiful projects waiting for us.

What a week it has been.
Venice at its absolute best: crowded, vibrant, exhausting, inspiring.
So many remarkable exhibitions, installations, dinners, encounters and conversations — and we were happy to play our part in some of them.

Over the past days our feeds have been filled with thoughtful reviews, beautifully written texts, striking graphics and stunning photography. There is truly an embarrassment of choice during Biennale week, when the entire city becomes an endless cultural itinerary.

The month of April sees the coincidence of some of the most important events on not only the Italian but the international calendar of Art and Design. The opening of the Venice Art Biennale (16-20 April) coincides with the Salone del Mobile (16-21 April), anticipated by a few days and in the same territories by the Miart (12-14 April), in Milan, and by the Vinitaly (14-17 April) in Verona.
What repercussions does all this have on the management, organization of work and press releases? What about labor costs? About logistics? On company investments and events to organize?

Both Design Week and the Biennale are communication platforms where brands from different origins can meet and communicate. Having them close by inevitably creates a choice of side.

Raise your hand if you haven’t had a hard time finding set up companies, transporters, hotels and any kind of suppliers unless at crazy costs, when available... We have all come to terms with the crazy costs of Venice and Milan: already expensive cities, in these two weeks they proved impossible.
Everyone, us first and foremost, is required to make an enormous effort in organizing and optimizing resources (human and economic), putting a strain on the nerves but also on the quality of success of the projects. And precisely to guarantee the quality of our work we have had to give up many things - with damage from an economic point of view - focusing on clients with whom we have an ongoing relationship or on institutional or particularly important projects.
In such circumstances, effective organization and professionalism are the key. By promoting a culture of respect, communication, and collaboration, teams can tackle challenges smoothly. Each team member’s role is vital in upholding cohesion and professionalism, ensuring successful outcomes. Remember, teamwork is essential for achieving dreams!
