🇮🇹 Il 12 agosto 1981, esattamente 44 anni fa, IBM lanciava il suo primo PC. 💻
Nello specifico, si parla del modello 5150, che ha rivoluzionato le attività lavorative di milioni di persone in tutto il mondo. 😄
Al netto del suo prezzo elevato al lancio, ben 3000 dollari, questo Personal Computer ha totalizzato 200000 vendite soltanto nel suo primo anno di vita (una cifra da capogiro per l'epoca) e ha dato vita a numerosi prodotti clone di altre aziende concorrenti. 🖱️
Tra le sue innovazioni principali, che hanno contribuito a definire le basi degli standard odierni, c'è sicuramente la possibilità di elaborare dati, gestire file ed eseguire software con un'immediatezza di utilizzo alla portata di tutti. 😮
Nonostante la bassa capacità di elaborazione (la CPU del processore Intel 8088 era compresa tra i 5 e i 10 mhz) e la necessità di acquistare costosi hard disk esterni per gestire una mole di dati consistente, l'IBM 5150 è senza dubbio una pietra miliare della storia della tecnologia. 💡

Notwithstanding its high price at launch, a good 3000, dollars this Personal Computer achieved 200,000 sales in its first year of life alone (a staggering figure for the time) and gave rise to numerous clone products from other competitor companies. 🖱️
Among its main innovations, which helped to define the foundations of today's standards, was certainly the ability to process data, manage files and run software with an immediacy that was within everyone's reach. 😮
In spite of its low processing capacity (the CPU of the Intel 8088 processor was between 5 and 10 mhz) and the need to buy expensive external hard disks to handle a large amount of data, the IBM 5150 is undoubtedly a milestone in the history of technology. 💡
