"March 23rd was a normal Monday. A very normal, albeit very cold, Monday evening in Martina Franca. But on a night that chills every resident of the Itria Valley, inside a charming Trullo between the baroque pearl of the Taranto hinterland and the industrial heart of Ionian Puglia, there's someone keeping people warm.
His name is Francesco Martucci, the first guest of the Impossible Dinners hosted by BROS', the haute cuisine restaurant of Floriano Pellegrino and Isabella Potì, now more than famous, almost infamous, avant-garde chefs from Salento.
With a total of more than 70 attendees, BROS' Trattoriaβa natural extension of the BROS' gourmet restaurantβis practically sold out.
The light rain, which certainly wasn't a welcome guest, accompanies the diners into what will be a gastronomic journey that will fully understand the vision of maestro Martucci. After a welcome of beer, wine, and pettoleβor pittule, as they're called in the chefs' homeland, Pellegrino-PotΓ¬βthe maestro's first creation is a veritable explosion of lust and flavor: spinach, fiordilatte, Pata Negra lard, 28-month Parmigiano Reggiano, and buffalo mozzarella form the base of a pizza topped with lemon zest and black truffle.
The name says it all: "Verde Tartufo" (Green Truffle).
The crackling start isn't a flash in the pan, but the prelude to a journey that tells the story of Francesco Martucci, founder of the pizzeria "I Masanielli" in Caserta."
