Love has no borders—and now, neither do marriages. Last Tuesday, the European Union’s top court ruled that all member states must recognise same‑sex marriages performed anywhere within the Union.

Since civil partnerships were recognised in Italy, we’ve had the joy of celebrating many gay and le***an weddings in Sardinia. We’ve guided couples not only through their day, but also in registering their union in their country of residence whenever similar laws are allowed.

We welcome this next step toward full marriage equality across Europe—a milestone that makes every celebration of love even more meaningful.

A & L, a British couple, chose a ceremony as unique as their passions. On a Sardinian beach, they exchanged vows beneath an arch made of surfboards—a tribute to their love for the sea. The celebration unfolded with an aperitif in the garden, an al fresco candlelit dinner overlooking the waves, and a party that danced under the stars. Some wedding ideas never lose their charm. Thirteen years ago, T&M said ‘I do’ on a radiant October day. While their guests enjoyed an aperitif with a sea view, they slipped away on a sailboat across the Gulf of Alghero for an intimate photo shoot while sipping their prosecco.

Since then, we’ve planned pre‑wedding boat parties, romantic sailboat photoshoots, and elopements at sea—each one carried by the sound of the waves and the sea breeze. Sailing towards the sunset remains one of the most timeless ways to celebrate love here.
