International Game Camp (13 – 15 October, IED Milano) was created to encourage the exchange between Italian and international game designers and Italian experts in cultural heritage. All game developers are welcome to participate and create new worlds themed around cultural heritage. The game camp will be held simultaneously between Milan and Toronto, where over 200 participants will be working for 48 hours on collaborative projects, creating new interactive content (videogames and/or interactive apps) that will innovate and expand audiences’ engagement in cultural heritage. International Game Camp will be enriched by inspirational talks (open to the public) presented by Rick Gush, the internationally renowned game designer and Linda Volkers, Marketing Manager at Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, expert in digital innovation and museum engagement. IGC will be preceded by an interactive open lecture on September 20th at the Politecnico di Milano (Piazza Leonardo da Vinci, 4.30pm – 6pm). The event is produced by Streamcolors, Bookrepublic and iC-Innovazione Culturale by Fondazione Cariplo in association with IED Milano, George Brown College (Toronto, Canada), Politecnico di Milano and IVIPRO.
