Indonesia Pavilion Festive Farewell

Indonesia has promoted its big potential of marine, maritime and underwater beauty, as well as creativity, biodiversity, culinary and multi-culture through Indonesia Pavilion in World Expo Milan 2015.

After the 6 months of memories, World Expo Milano 2015 is finally going to be over soon. Indonesia Pavilion initiates ‘The Marvelous Memento’ theme, in the aim to be the remembrance of every memory Indonesia Pavilion had been through.

Since 8th of October, Indonesia Pavilion held a performance for charity for the sightless children in Italy through UICI (Unione Italiana dei Ciechi e degli Ipovedenti) as the expression of gratitude from Indonesia to Italy, is going to handover on 31st October 2015.

From 29 – 31 October 2015, Indonesia Pavilion amphiteather will be enlived by the live charity performance from Indonesia’s musicians, namely the pianist Ade Irawan, the violinist Iskandar Widjaja, the guitarist Matt Hart ‘Arkarna’ and Reeboot Band. Additionally, traditional dances are performed by the Tourism Government Department of DKI Jakarta Province.

On the 30th of October, Indonesia Pavilion invites the special guests who had been supported and contributed so much in the success of Indonesia Pavilion, with the rewarding session.

MASKS OF THE ISLANDS: INDONESIA AUTHENTICITY

Indonesia Pavilion presents the new Masks Gallery to promote the diverse art and culture through the masks exhibition. The heritage masks of native Indonesian originally are used to represent ancestor spirits. Nowadays, the Indonesian masks are not only used as the dance attribute, but also decoration, ornament and collection.

The concept of masks gallery in Indonesia Pavilion itself is really unique, showcasing the traditional masks in the contemporer presentation.

A special visit from the Mrs. Sinta Nuriyah Wahid, the first lady of the fourth president of Indonesia, Abdurrahman Wahid. Also present president of UICI (Unione Italiana dei Ciechi e degli Ipovedenti / Union of Sightless Italy) province of Lombardia, Rodolfo Masto, in collaboration with the Indonesian Pavilion to raise funds that will be allocated to the sightless Italian through UICI.

Mrs. Sinta Wahid watched the performance of Ade Irawan ft. Silvia (one of the sightless representative from UICI), then toured in Indonesia Pavilion and lunch in the Masks Gallery of Indonesia Pavilion.

The presence of Mrs. Sinta Wahid also coincided with the welcoming of the 3,5 millionth visitor of Indonesia Pavilion. Before going out of the Expo, Mrs. Sinta Wahid spared her time to visit French Pavilion, Thailand, Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam Pavilion

Inter Milan Legends Francesco Toldo and Giuseppe 'Beppe' Bergomi visited Indonesia Pavilion. The legends visit also enliven by Indonesian world class pianist, Ade Irawan, celebrity, Velove Vexia and designer Didit Hediprasetyo.

As quoted from Inter Channel:
"The Oculus is a wonderful experience and it’s great to soak up the aroma of the spices here inside the pavilion. A visit here really does awaken all the senses!" declared former Inter defender Giuseppe Bergomi.

Inter Forever director Francesco Toldo was similarly taken with the experience: "It’s lovely to come here to Expo and get a first-hand taste of the diverse nature of each country. Indonesia has to be a beautiful place and the pavilion manages to completely immerse you in its culture."
