Many years before it had a name, Mantova was already here: huts on an island, surrounded by marshland.

Then the Etruscans, then Rome, then the Middle Ages. Then one man, Alberto Pitentino, who in 1190 changed the course of the water forever and gave the city its four lakes. Then 400 years of the Gonzaga, who made it a kingdom.
