AND THAT'S A WRAP!
Yesterday was my last wedding of not just this season but for the foreseeable future. Ronan photographed his last wedding two weeks ago and after 22 years of wedding planning (12 years full time) I co-ordinated my last planned wedding yesterday.
I am now taking off my wedding hat and handing it over to the care of Sam and Eleonora who have been my trusted colleagues for the last 12 years for weddings in Italy. My website and enquiry forms will remain open and will be responded to by the very experienced duo who will be happy to help you. They have been working alongside me for 12 years of Italian weddings so they know what Irish, UK and American clients want and expect. I'll still be in the background a little for the next two years so the weddings will still have an 'infusion' of Rosie the Wedding Planner!
When I started my business I offered 8000 locations in 40 different countries. Over the years I narrowed this down to Europe and then to Ireland and Italy and then as my love for Italy grew I began specialising in weddings in Italy 7 years ago. Which led us to move to Italy where we are renovating a 10 bedroomed villa (see pic of Ronan’s new ‘job’), where I hope to run small retreats for groups.
While Covid lockdowns called a very stressful halt to our wedding businesses for two years, it gave me something I wanted since I was a teenager. Time to to write books. I’ve since written 9 novels. Five have been published, the rest will be published over the next 10 months.
I turned 50 this year, and my energy levels are not what they used to be let me tell you! Also last winter my 85 year old mother moved over to Italy to enjoy being looked after by us.
So I have a lot going on and wedding clients deserve to have 100 percent attention for planning their special day. And this I cannot commit to for the foreseeable future. So that is why, after planning about 1000 weddings over the years, I am stepping back.
Enquiries can still be made via my website (in the biog) and Sam and Eleonora will get back to you promptly.
Life is too short not to follow all your dreams, and being a full time author someday was alway a huge dream of mine that I never thought would happen. Ironically Covid helped make it possible. And I can’t wait for this new chapter in my life to begin fully (excuse the pun!).
I know Sam and Eleonora will help make the start of your dream life together very special in Italy and I wish all of you the very best.
To our past couples around the world, many who are still in touch with us, we so enjoyed being part of your special day and I love following your lives, travels, homes, careers and the excitement of pregnancies and seeing your kids grow through social media. Thank you all for making the last 22 years so enjoyable and interesting!
So it’s a goodnight from him and a goodnight from me (you are all probably too young to know this reference! All the more reason why I should be retiring! Hahaha)
May all your futures be as wonderful and as exciting as my past.
xx
Rosie
