Each Salaams has its own tempo, musical quality, and spiritual, mystical flavour. this series of videos depicts the musical composition called “Bayati”. The name refers to particular musical mode, one of the earliest compositions for the Mevlevi whirling prayer ceremony.

On Saturday night, more than a thousand people came to the Teatro Verdi in Gorizia for our Mevlevi Sema ceremony. The theatre only has 650 seats. We are very sorry for those who could not get in. Locals said that they had never seen such attendance at an event in Gorizia in fifty years. This makes the Sema of Allah that we presented a historic event for the city of Gorizia. Thank you all for coming! Thanks also to the Municipality of Gorizia and the Al Huda Association.

Il Sema Mevlevi è una cerimonia Sufi che, da oltre 700 anni, combina insieme danza, musica e poesia per aprire i cuori ed elevare gli spiriti di tutti i partecipanti in un viaggio di amore e bellezza.
La cerimonia è guidata dal Gran Maestro di ney Sadreddin Özçimi
e il suo ensemble, dalla voce dell’illustre solista Ahmed Şahin, e dal Maestro Sufi Ali Yaküp Baba, per la prima volta in Italia.
L'evento fa parte del programma "Terre di Pace: Festival del dialogo interreligioso", rassegna di eventi organizzata a Gorizia Capitale Europea della Cultura Transfrontaliera 2025.

Sema Mevlevi je sufijska slovesnost, ki že več kot 700 let združuje ples, glasbo in poezijo, da bi odprla srca in povzdignila duha vseh udeležencev na popotovanju ljubezni in lepote.
Slovesnost vodi veliki mojster neya Sadreddin Özçimi s svojim ansamblom, ob spremljavi izjemnega solista Ahmeda Şahina in mojstra sufijev Ali Yaküpa Babe, ki bodo nastopili prvič v Italiji.
Dogodek je del programa »Dežele miru: Festival medverskega dialoga«, sklopa prireditev, pripravljenih v okviru Gorice – Evropske prestolnice čezmejne kulture 2025.
