In light of the recent bombings, I felt the need to share something positive today.
Iran is a country with beautiful, rich traditions, and this Persian wedding shows a small part of that.
A Sofreh Aghd filled with symbolism, history and meaning.
✨
On the table:
The mirror, reflecting the couple as they begin their life together.
Candles, representing light and clarity.
Honey, symbolising sweetness in marriage.
Decorated eggs, for fertility and new beginnings.
Green apples, for health and beauty.
Wheat, for abundance and prosperity.
Coins, for wealth and stability.
Nuts and sweets, for joy and celebration.
The Qur’an, honouring faith and tradition.
Sugar cones gently ground above the couple’s heads, wishing them a sweet life.
✨
Each object selected for what it represents. Every detail carrying generations of meaning.
I am tired of countries bombing other countries. Tired of innocent people losing homes, safety, loved ones. It feels endless.
My hope lies here:
Flowers. Weddings. Colour. Italy. Long tables and warm nights with good food. My incredible couples. The love I get to witness at every single wedding.
These are the things that get me out of bed in the morning. These are the things that make me happy. And right now, I have to hold on to them because the world doesn’t make any sense.
