Alright, I’m going to say this very clearly as the admin of this group and as a professional destination wedding planner since 2009.
A post was published earlier offering wedding planning and coordination services at rates that are honestly shocking for this industry. Unfortunately, despite all posts supposedly requiring approval by myself or my team, Facebook occasionally auto-approves content without our authorization. This one slipped through, and I sincerely apologize for that.
But let’s have a real conversation for a moment.
Would you genuinely hand over one of the most important, emotional, expensive, and logistically complex days of your life to someone charging €500 for wedding coordination?
BE SERIOUS.
This is not about “luxury.” This is about basic professionalism. Proper planning. Experience. Responsibility. Crisis management. Vendor coordination. Timelines. Budget supervision. Client support. Legalities. Communication. Production. Problem-solving under pressure.
Anyone who has actually worked in this industry knows exactly how much work goes into planning a wedding correctly — especially destination weddings in Italy.
These are not realistic professional fees.
And before anyone says “everyone starts somewhere,” yes — absolutely. Every professional was once a beginner. But then be transparent about it. Say clearly that you are building experience, creating a portfolio, or offering introductory pricing while learning the business.
Because couples deserve honesty.
What is not okay is presenting yourself as a fully established professional while charging rates that simply do not reflect the level of responsibility this job requires.
At that point, honestly? Couples could ask a very organized friend to help for free.
And I know this may sound harsh, but the truth is: pricing services this way does not help the industry, does not help clients, and ultimately does not even help the person offering the service.
It creates confusion, unrealistic expectations, and devalues years of experience, education, emotional labor, and professional accountability.
So yes, the post has been removed and the member has been suspended from the group.
And respectfully, if someone is looking to sell services in a completely non-professional way — or if couples are only looking for the absolute cheapest shortcut possible regardless of quality, reliability, or experience — then this may simply not be the right community for them.
There is a huge difference between being budget-conscious and being careless about who you trust with your wedding day.
This group exists to connect couples with serious, professional, experienced, and trustworthy vendors in Italy.
And finally, a genuine thank you to all the professionals who continue to do this work with integrity, professionalism, passion, and responsibility every single day — and to the couples who understand the value behind what we do, in Italy and everywhere else in the world.
