Villa Scorzi is a daughter of history, whose features and appearance have been shaped over the centuries. The inscription on the columns of the main gate, "Horti Cini," dates back to the early 16th century, when the property belonged to the Cini family. At that time, the estate was much larger than it is today, extending all the way to the banks of the Arno River in what is now the Municipality of San Giuliano Terme. The land was cultivated by farmers who lived in the various farmhouses scattered across the area. By enclosing the property with a large gate, the Cini family intended to emphasize that the land within was for their exclusive use and cultivated as gardens.
