Part of what I do in my job is designing personalised rituals,
to give meaning to important moments in people’s lives
and to mark the passage from a “before” to an “after”.
Today, I have a little gift for you:
three ritual ideas to close the year.
—
1. THE SURVIVAL BOX
Take a box and put in it something that can help you make a hard day feel lighter.
For example: your favourite drink, a comfort food voucher, a bath bomb.
Open the box only in case of emergency, on one condition:
if you open it, make a new one.
—
2. FIRE
Write down a list of the things that didn’t make you feel good in 2025.
Tear the paper and burn the pieces (safely).
Say goodbye to those things and don’t take them with you into the new year.
—
3. THE LETTER FROM THE PAST
Take a moment to look back on the year that has just ended.
Write a letter to yourself about what made you feel good
and what you hope for the year ahead. Focus on the positive, don’t be hard on yourself.
Seal the letter and open it again next December 31st.

I matrimoni umanisti permettono una grande libertà nella costruzione del rito. Tra i vari momenti che si possono includere, uno dei più coinvolgenti è quello delle dediche delle persone care. Affidarsi a una celebrante significa avere la serenità che ogni contributo venga letto in anticipo e sia inserito in armonia con il resto della cerimonia, e soprattutto avere qualcuno che sappia sostenere e guidare chi legge in un passaggio così carico di emozioni.

Humanist weddings give you a lot of freedom in shaping your ceremony. One of the most powerful moments you can include is a dedication from someone close to you. Relying on a celebrant means every reading is reviewed beforehand and inserted smoothly into the flow of the event, and, above all, having someone there to support and guide the speaker through such an emotional moment.

✨The kissing moment is one of my favourites: it wraps up the ceremony and kicks off the party. That’s when the “I do” feels real and turns into pure joy!
