Two Beautiful Olive Trees, that welcome our guests at Casa Sant Elia.
They take pride of place in our front garden, and felt so humbled when we were given them some 20 yrs ago.
Infact, we didn’t know anything about their arrival, until we saw a truck rumbling down the drive with two rather large olive trees on board…following, came our builder in his slightly large Hummer!
The trees produce enormous glossy black eating olives, that ripen far earlier than the olives we use for our delicious Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
And yes, I will try yet again, to preserve some for eating! Previous attempts have proven to be, too salty, too oily or too shrivelled, but I won’t give up.
Perhaps it’s just like pruning our olive trees, I may never master the task, as I’m not an Italian 🇮🇹
