🌟 North Bengal Painters’ Association at Kanchanjunga Tourism Festival 2025 🌟

North Bengal Painters’ Association (NBPA) had the privilege of participating as a friendly partner in the “Kanchanjunga Tourism Festival 2025”, beautifully organized by ACT ( Association for Conservation & Tourism ) from 25th to 27th September, 2025 at City Centre, Siliguri.

The three-day festival was a vibrant confluence of tourism, art, culture, and community spirit, celebrating the essence of our Himalayan heritage. As artists, we were honored to share our creative expressions with visitors, fellow participants, and cultural enthusiasts.

From live art moments and engaging interactions to showcasing the beauty of North Bengal through colors and creativity — the festival offered us many unforgettable experiences. These highlights reflect not only the spirit of NBPA but also the deep cultural harmony that binds art with tourism.

We are grateful to ACT for giving us this wonderful platform and to all the art lovers who visited, appreciated, and encouraged us. Here are some glimpses from those remarkable days that will always stay close to our hearts. 🎨✨

At last, we have received the much-awaited copy of The Darjeeling Mail magazine, which arrived this morning all the way from London. Our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Paul Whittle, Vice Chairman & Public Relations of The Darjeeling Mail, UK, for kindly sending us this special issue and for his wonderful article on the Toy Train Day celebration, marking the 144th Birthday of the legendary DHR Toy Train.

This is indeed a proud moment for us, as through this initiative we feel truly connected internationally with the heritage of the DHR — a world-renowned treasure — together with our own identity as NBPA.

On behalf of NBPA, we extend our deepest gratitude to you for recognizing our humble efforts. We remain committed to celebrating Toy Train Day every year, and we sincerely look forward to your continued support and encouragement in the years ahead.

NBPA Showcases Local Artistry to Professor Rajasekhar Vangapaty from FIT, New York
Date: July 16, 2025 | Venue: Siliguri Institute of Technology, Sukna

The North Bengal Painters’ Association (NBPA) had the proud opportunity to represent the vibrant art and craft heritage of North Bengal at a prestigious event organized by Techno India Group at the Siliguri Institute of Technology.

This event was part of the preparations for the launch of the first private university in North Bengal – Skills, Knowledge and Fashion University (SKFU) – in Siliguri. As a special guest, Professor Rajasekhar Vangapaty from the world-renowned Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), New York, visited the campus to engage with local artisans and explore the region’s diverse crafts.

NBPA was honored to be invited for a brief yet meaningful interaction with Professor Vangapaty. Our members displayed a curated collection of handcrafted artefacts and artworks that reflected the soul of the Dooars, Darjeeling hills, and North Bengal plains. From traditional techniques to contemporary expressions rooted in local identity, the showcase was an inspiring dialogue between global academia and indigenous artistry.

Professor Vangapaty expressed keen interest in the craftsmanship and highlighted the importance of integrating such local practices into modern fashion education. This cultural exchange holds the promise of future collaborations where art students and local artisans could co-create meaningful design narratives.

We thank Techno India Group and SKFU for this valuable platform and look forward to continued partnerships that celebrate the legacy and potential of North Bengal’s creative community.
