The Sikkim Pradesh Congress Committee strongly condemns the shocking failure of the Central Government and the National Testing Agency (NTA) following the cancellation of the NEET UG 2026 examination conducted for more than 22 lakh students across the country.

Shri Gopal Chettri, President of the Sikkim Pradesh Congress Committee, expressed deep concern and outrage over the massive question paper leak scandal, calling it a complete collapse of the country’s examination and education system under the present BJP-led Central Government.

“NEET is not merely an examination; it is the dream, sacrifice, and future of lakhs of hardworking students and their families. The cancellation of the examination after allegations of large-scale paper leaks is a national shame and a direct betrayal of the youth of India,” Shri Chettri stated.

He further said that students spend years preparing day and night with dedication, while parents invest their hard-earned money with hope and trust in the system. However, due to corruption, negligence, and administrative failure, more than 22 lakh aspirants are now being forced to suffer mentally and emotionally.

“It is heartbreaking to hear students saying they may never score the same marks again. The Central Government has completely failed to protect the integrity of one of the country’s most important examinations. Instead of ensuring transparency and accountability, the government has allowed the education system to become vulnerable to corruption, paper leaks, and organised malpractice mafias,” he added.

The SPCC President also questioned how sensitive examination papers could allegedly circulate openly in coaching hubs weeks before the examination while authorities remained silent and inactive.

“This incident has exposed the hollow claims of the BJP Government regarding ‘New India’ and educational reforms. When the future of millions of students cannot be protected, it reflects the complete incompetence and irresponsibility of the authorities concerned,” Shri Chettri said.

He demanded a transparent, time-bound, and independent investigation into the entire matter, strict punishment against all those involved in the paper leak racket, and accountability from top officials responsible for this unprecedented failure.

Shri Chettri also urged the Central Government to prioritise the mental well-being of students and ensure that no deserving aspirant suffers due to the corruption and inefficiency of the system.

“The youth of India deserve fairness, justice, and equal opportunity — not uncertainty, stress, and betrayal. The nation cannot remain silent while the future of millions is repeatedly compromised,” he stated.

The Sikkim Pradesh Congress Committee stands firmly with all NEET aspirants and their families during this difficult time and demands immediate corrective measures to restore public trust in the country’s examination system.
