Today At Khariar (Nuapada),
April 19 2026/Sunday.

The election of new office bearers of the Nuapada District Badminton Association has been successfully completed at the Khariar PWD Inspection Bungalow.

The President of the Khariar Judicial Bar Association, Mr Giridhari Bibhār, was present as the Election Officer. As State Observer, Shailendra Kumar Choudhury, Joint Secretary of the Odisha State Badminton Association, and as District Observer, Debabrata Sahu were present.

The election was conducted in accordance with the guidelines of the State Badminton Association.

In this election:

Santosh Kumar Pattnaik has been elected as President

Prasanna Kumar Mahanā as Vice-President

Sudipta Kumar Bishoi as General Secretary

Dr. Saroj Kumar Panda and Prabhanjan Sethi as Joint Secretaries

Akshaya Kumar Padhi as Treasurer

The following members have been elected as Executive Members:

Nanda Kumar Nag, Sushanta Tandi, Nandalal Agrawal, Ritesh Kumar Babu, Prakash Chandra Patra, Bana Bihari Behera, Durba Ranjan Khamari, Sumit Kumar Sahu, and Alok Kumar Rath.

At the end, State Observer Shailendra Choudhury congratulated and welcomed all the newly elected members. President Santosh Pattnaik expressed his commitment to taking the District Badminton Association to new heights.

The proposed design for the Eden Gardens redevelopment, created in collaboration with the global architectural firm **Populous**, focuses on a sleek, futuristic aesthetic while preserving the ground's historic atmosphere.

# # # Design Highlights:

* **Modern Facade:** The exterior will feature a modular, metallic-finish facade that provides a contemporary look and allows for better natural ventilation within the concourses.

* **The "Sky Deck":** One of the most visually striking elements is the elevated Sky Deck. It is designed to wrap around the upper tiers, giving the stadium a halo-like silhouette at night when illuminated.

* **Three-Tier Structure:** The redevelopment of Blocks D through J will introduce a unified three-tier seating arrangement. This ensures that even with the increased capacity (to over 85,000), the sightlines remain optimal for fans.

* **Integrated Heritage:** The design team has been careful to ensure that the new structures blend seamlessly with the historic Club House and the B, C, K, and L blocks, maintaining the "soul" of the venue.

* **Illumination:** The proposal includes a sophisticated LED lighting system for the exterior and roof, allowing the stadium to change colors based on the event (e.g., Purple for KKR matches or Blue for Team India).

These designs aim to elevate Eden Gardens to the same architectural status as the MCG in Australia or the Lord's Cricket Ground in London.
