We are happy to invite all music lovers to a classical vocal duet by young artists, Sri Vijetha Subrahmanya Kabekkodu and Sri Venkata Yashaswi Kabekkodu, at Sri Lakhminarasimhaswamy Temple, SBM Colony, Srirampura, Mysuru, at 6 PM on Saturday, 16th Aug, 2025.

Sri Vijetha Subrahmanya and Sri Venkata Yashaswi are disciple of Vid A Eshwara Bhat, Kanchana in vocal music. Additionally Vijetha has also learnt violin from Vid Venugopala Shanubhogue and Vid H K Narasimhamurthy, while, Venkata Yashaswi is trained in mridanga by Vid A Eshwara Bhat Kanchana. Both the talented young artists are from Kasaragod and pursuing their professional courses.

They will be accompanied on violin by Sri Shrirama Kanchana (disciple of Vid Venugopala Shanubhogue, Vid H K Narasimhamurthy and Vid A Eshwara Bhat Kanchana), on mridanga by Dr Akshaya Narayana Kanchana (disciple of Vid A Eshwara Bhat Kanchana) and on ghata by Sri Dheemantha Bhatta (disciple of Vid Surli Ganeshamurthy and Vid Tumkur B Ravishankar)

We are happy to presen a Hindustani classical vocal concert by Vidu. Dr. Sanjana Kaushik, at Jayanagar Sri Rama Mandira, Mysuru at 6 PM on Sunday, 10th August, 2025.

Pt. Veerabhadraiah Hiremath, a senior artist and guru will provide support on harmonium, while Pt. Parameshwar Hegde will support on tabla.

Vidu. Dr. Sanjana Kaushik, a Mysuru born bright artist since her childhood, began her journey in music from her mother, Vidu. R.K.Taramani and later gained higher training from many eminent scholars such as, Vidu. Geetha Dutt, Jalandhar, Pt. Veerabhadraiah Hiremath, Pt. Nagabhushan Hegde, Pt. J.Niranjan, Pt. Arun Kashalkar, Mumbai and Vidu. Dr. Pournima Dhumale, Pune. She did her Masters in music and also obtained Doctoral degree for her research work in music,
Sanjana is a graded artist of AIR and was a recipient of scholarships from GOI (CCRT), Karnataka Sangeeta Nritya Academy, Sursagar Foundation and Dadar Matunga Cultural Centre etc. She has won prizes in many State and National level competitions. She is also an UGC NET qualified teacher. Sanjana has a rich experience as a performer as well as a teacher. She has performed in various prestigious platforms across India.

We regret to inform the sad demise of eminent and senior veena artist and a very popular medical practitioner, Dr. S. Vijayaraghavan, yesterday. His adherence to the traditional Mysuru bani was evident in his attractive style of veena playing. He was an A Top grade veena artist of All India Radio and Doordarshan. As a senior doctor, he had worked as a professor at Mysore Medical College and KVG Medical College, Sullia and has guided many post graduate students. Patients from faraway places were coming for consultancy from him.
Dr S. Vijayaraghavan had been conferred with ‘Vainika Brahma’ title by Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha, Mysuru and ‘Sangeetha Vidyanidhi’ by Sri JSS Sangeetha Sabha, Mysuru.
Sri Thyagaraja Sangeetha Sabha condoles his demise and pray for the sadgathi of the noble soul. Our respectful homage and pranamas.

Hailing from a family of musicians, Vid Pattabhiram Pandith was initially trained in music by his mother and subsequently by Vidu Vallabham Kalyana Sundaram and Sangeeta Kalanidhi Dr S Ramanathan. Thereafter he got the opportunity of learning under the versatile guru Palghat K V Narayanaswamy and Vidu Padma Narayanaswamy. He is one of the most promising vocalist of the present generation. His performances are packed with adherence to sampradaya, bani and soulful singing with an open throat enjoying the divine music and building instant rapport with the audience.
Vid H N Bhaskar, a brilliant and highly sought-after violinist will provide support on the violin, while mridanga maestro, Vid K U Jayachandra Rao, known for aesthetics and exemplary purcussion skills will accompany on mridanga. Vid G Omkar Rao will provide support on ghata.

We are happy that we will be celebrating Sri Shyama Shastry's day by paying respectful tributes to the great composer on Sunday, 15th June 2025 at Sri Vidyabharathi Prarthana Mandira, Sri Chandramoulishwara Temple, V V Mohalla, Myuru. Musicians of the city will render goshtigayana of his kritis between 9 AM to 10 AM. Later a vocal concert by Sangeetha Kalarathna Vid S Shankar and his son and disciple Vid Ramani Shankar will be held from 10 AM to 12 Noon with instrumental support on violin by Vidu Sindhu Suchethan and mridanga by Vid Nandan Kashyap.

Sangeetha Kalarathna S Shankar is a senior and eminent Karnatak vocalist. He was initially trained in classical music by his mother Vidu Rajamma Sastry and also by Vidu Nagarathna Bai. Later he was guided by Vidu Vallabham Kalyana Sundaram. A performer for more than four decades, he is an ‘A-Top’ graded artist of AIR & Doordarshan and has performed in the national programme and in the Radio Sangeetha Sammelan. He is a renowned scholar and has given many thematic presentations, lec-demos etc. He is bestowed with several prestigious institutions such as First prize in AIR music competition, Best young musician award from Madras Music Academy and Best Musician award from Bengaluru Gayana Samaja etc.

We are extremely happy to invite all rasikas to a three days music festival in memory of legendary flutist, T R Mahalingam organised in association with Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha and T R Mahalingam Samsmarana Vedike, founded by Vid A V Prakash, from 29th to 31st May 2025.

Vid A P Krishna Prasad, born into a family of eminent musicians, had his initial tutelage under his father a well-known flautist Vid A V Prakash and further pursued the art under the guidance of flute maestro Vid Dr N Ramani. He has accompanied eminent dancers including Vjdushis Chitra Vishweshwaran, Uma Rao, Padmini Ramachandra among others. Apart from Karnatak music, he is also adept in Fusion, Jazz, Blues and played in Jugalbandhi concerts and has performed in many prestigious sabhas in India and toured many cities abroad and participated in music festivals. He is also a well sought after teacher.

Vidwans Heramba and Hemantha, the most promising young flautist duo in the Karnatik music scenario today, are hailing from a family of eminent dance gurus and musicians. They were initially trained in the art by Vid A V Prakash and are later accepted as disciples by Sangeeta Kalanidhi Santanagopalan, who was impressed by their performance. They have mesmerized the audience from a very young age and have performed in almost all prestigious platforms in India. The duo have the credit of receiving appreciation and accolades from senior musicians. The brothers have exhibited their talent in many important countries abroad also.

Vid Dr C A Sreedhar was born in to the illustrious Chilkunda family of well known musicians. He had an impressive musical journey and has served as the professor of music and Principal at the University Fine Arts College, Mysuru University, Mysuru.

Artists Profile:
Vidu Madhuri Kasushik is one of the promising yaoung musical talents of Karnataka. She began her initial music lessons from Vidu.Smt.Rohini Manjunath and trained under her for more than 13 years and also from Vidu. Dr. Sukanya Prabhakar for more than 7 years. Currently, she is being trained by gurus Vidushis Ranjani and Gayatri, Chennai.
A graded artist of AIR and recipient of the CCRT and scholarship by GOI, Madhuri has rendered concerts and won prizes in several esteemed sabhas all over South India and USA, including HCL Series, Spirit of Youth - 2019, The Music Academy, Madras, PARAMPARA Series, Chennai, Asthika Samajam, Chennai, Gayana Samaja, Bangalore, Malleshwaram Sangeetha Sabha, Sri Rama Seva Mandali, Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha, Mysore, ARKAY Convention Centre, Chennai, Madhuri has been awarded the ‘Promising talent of the year-2019’ by Sri Kartikeya Gana Sabha,Hyderabad.
