Bridélan is a vision that belongs to Nisha Kundnani, an established stylist from Mumbai whose career spans nearly a decade in fashion. She worked as a writer before taking up styling. Her work

in celebrity, editorial and commercial styling reflects good taste, grace and glamour. For many, shopping can be an intimidating and confusing experience. We want to help make this experience friendlier, easier and even enjoyable. Also ensuring that you have the luxury of time without worrying and planning every small detail yourself. Bridélan will thus become your go-to person, confidante and friend who you can count on from Day 1 to D-Day. Ultimately, wedding is a romantic dream for all of us, a dream in which we all want to look our elegant best. The day itself might pass but its visual memory will last forever.

‘Happily ever after’ is not just a line from a movie’s climax, after all.

Two years ago around this time in April 2023 we launched our fine jewellery vertical specialising in shopping, customising and curating wedding jewellery.

Our relationship with Jaipur is deeply meaningful and exhilarating. Every trip to this royal city gives us joyful butterflies in the stomach. Sitting with trusted jeweller smiths, learning about the craft of hand made jewellery, digging in to the colourful world of refined gems stones and luminous diamonds.

We’ve made some meaningful relationships with trusted jeweller families over the years and I was honoured to be invited by one of the most illustrated jeweller family of Jaipur (Daddha family of ) for their family wedding recently. Here is a dump of the looks and the jewels I wore for this wedding. With ofcourse all fine jewels by

I am in my early 40s now and I feel incredibly grateful to myself and my industry for helping me sustain , my brainchild that completes 10 years this year. I am a bit old school so I take time to adapt to change. I resisted opening  Instagram for 10 years as I felt Bridelan deserved unconditional love and nurturing. I still remain a humble employee of my own company. Which means I will work the hardest there no matter what.

But change is a good thing and I owe our success to Instagram, so I am optimistic about things when change happens. My close and industry friends will see me more often here, how I dress, what I do, what I think and how intentionally I live my life. There is meaning in everything I want to do. So I hope this Instagram account doesn’t participate in the universe of just going with the flow, I hope it becomes a classic one day, just like my work is.

I am shy, awkward, confident yes but I feel pointless in being in people’s faces all the time. I am even shy of my own mother who dotes on me, wants to see me dressed like a princess but I get her love and obsession as I am equally obsessed about her.

So folks, I dress up to please my mother.
I imbibe her elegance and life practice of always putting the effort in looking beautiful. “You always look the best in saris.” Are her golden words.

I wore this beautiful modern Banarsi sari by (thank you ) in Jaipur for the family wedding of recently.

You can, you should, but you have to take into consideration that it is extremely rare Indian clothes with a modern sensibility and only certain necklines and styles that can elevate a look. Designer ’s new bridal collection for the spring summer 2025 season is here and is titled Vaana which means ‘forest’. The clothes, in an instant, remind you of two things: words by master painter Rembrandt, “Choose only one master - nature” and Anita Dongre’s own signature nature motifs. Designers like Anita Dongre are bringing poetic and artful storytelling to clothes. Yes almost 80% of the outfits are hand-painted which is a specialised craft and distinction of this global brand. The Pichwai art form is translated in delicate lehengas, saris, diaphanous jackets, dresses and elegant occasion wear clothes.

As a bridal stylist, I feel every theme of the creative world has been explored. There are no new trends, there is only timelessness to be explored with more depth and meaning. Vaana probes Anita’s love affirmations with nature. It’s an intentional capsule collection that celebrates the oldest theme that has existed in clothes - NATURE. The line is fresh, it has a new look and vibe. What I personally love is how effortless, light and airy the clothes are. They are hand painted but on light, sheer fabrics. What Anita personally told me is that she designs for a woman who does not like discomfort and clothes that wear down the personality of the wearer.

Nature is not just a design recurring motif, it’s a leitmotif at Anita Dongre. It’s what the brand lives, breathes and practices as a way of life and personal values.

Bridelan was privileged to be invited by bridal luxury designer at their headquarters in New Mumbai for the soft launch and exclusive press preview of their new Spring Summer 2024 collection - Vaana.

Vaana means forest and select elite press was invited for a balmy afternoon, far from the maddening Mumbai’s burgeoning megapolis. Nestled in New Mumbai’s industrial district was the House of Anita Dongre. An energy efficient architecture that is surrounded by abundance of nature. It’s so green that you instantly have respect for the designer for giving craft makers a very loving and nurturing space to create beautiful clothes.

There is sunshine everywhere, the space is big, they have mountains in their backyard and there is no room for claustrophobia. It’s very airy and very green. The working conditions are respectful and nice for the highest hierarchy and the humblest artisans. The brand is known to engage in sustainable practices of clothing, uplifting craft of her roots Rajasthan and without that she says, “we are nothing.” Anita, her son Yash, her daughter-in-law and team are strutting around in comfort like they are home. The kind of conversations that were floating around, you almost cannot believe that it is the headquarters of one of the richest heritage brands of India. In one instance, Anita introduces us to Namrata Shirodkar as her buyer who started out
18 years ago as personal assistant and
now is Anita’s ‘boss’. “I don’t do anything
without Namrata’s approval. It’s not the other way around.”

We see you Anita, we hear you. Vaana
is not just a collection, it’s a conscious collective of your design and life philosophy. Of things that matter to the world and your environment. Vaana has
a conscious soul and we are moved by
its beauty and elegance.

I’m personally moved, inspired and deeply emotional about the Paris Couture Week SS 2025 collection by Bridelan’s most favourite Indian designer .

“Across the Flame” is one of the most special collections by the house of Gaurav Gupta because it examines the effects of healing in the face of personal tragedy, it displays strength, resilience and creative intentions even in times of adverse pain. For people who go through physical trauma, the bravest path to take is excel in their work space and that’s no easy feet. 2024 and 2025 have been phenomenal years at GG. They are definitive and daringly creative. Every campaign, show, behind-the-scene, makeup trails, shoots and most importantly the designing of the clothes have been nothing short of a divine experience. We the fans, audience and patrons feel grateful.

‘Across the Flame’ shows us the strength to be tenacious, to be innovative, to always march forward with a vision. That designing is ultimately a spiritual practice.

The Indian bride maker

as a brand is infinite talent and his most signifiant contribution is the beauty that he creates with the purposeful school of thought that is authentic to the brand ‘made in India’. Be in western, Indian or couture, his creations are stunning, powerful and are high on aspirational values.

At Bridelan, we are extremely excited about GG’s newest bridal collection 2025 that is innately Indian, even though it has a modern spin. These are perfect couture solutions for wedding lehengas for the main wedding ceremony, sangeet and reception. A Bridelan bride loves to wear GG for her reception. We couldn’t be more excited about dressing our brides in Gaurav Gupta for the sacred wedding ceremony day.

Bhagvad Gita Chapter 2, Verse 47:

कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन।
मा कर्मफलहेतुर्भूर्मा ते सङ्गोऽस्त्वकर्मणि॥

“You have the right to perform your duty (karma) only, but never to its fruits.
Let not the fruits of action be your motive, nor let your attachment be to inaction.”

From outside, it is easy to see how glamorous the fashion industry is but the lives of designers and creators are vulnerable and we have to go through own our journey of pain and grief. While folks like us in the creative world are driven by a desire to succeed and overcome our tribulations, we seek stability and self presevation. Through that act and action sometimes great ideas and design grammar is born.

At the Paris Couture Week 2025 this year, Indian designer showed unprecedented strength and dignity by sharing his deepest vulnerability to the world of fashion and extreme luxury. Gaurav and his life partner/muse suffered a traumatic fire accident last year. But nothing is stopping this mega brand, creative powerhouse and incredible human of Mumbai and Paris to pour his love and explore his creativity to the fullest to create dream couture that is meaningful, empowering and so magnificent to experience in the form of clothes.

This collection is out-of-the-world special even if it is dark, it is a fantasy, it is brutal and beautiful in its expression and form. We love you and we are grateful to the mythical universe for your limitless talent and passion.

A new kind of Deccan Heralds:

Jeweller extraordinaire launched her first store in her home city of Hyderabad. I’ve been a fan and supporter of Swapna’s unconventional and unique vision and have always had a worshipful perspective towards her taste in jewellery. At a single glance one can say her designs are eccentric fun but I find method in the madness, I find connotations and deepest respect for craft and India’s cultural heritage. To say that Swapna has a very refined taste is an understatement. All her jewellery is fine gold, rare gem stones, finest pearls and pure gold and is fully hand made by local artisans and is conceptualised and originally created by Swapna herself.

Folks please visit this new gem of a jewellery store at Jubilee Hills in the rich city of Hyderabad.

WHY DOES EVERYONE LOVE SABYASACHI

This is the genius of , the ability to naturally make people fall in love with him.

How can someone be so authentically charming? His 25 years as a brand was an experience, the clothes, the setting, the decor everything evoked emotion.
But to experience the person that Sabyasachi is, is to be in the presence of the most endearing and passionate person.

At that iconic evening, everyone initially was looking around for the quintessential Sabya shy boy. He was more backstage overseeing every styling detail. Many of us know that the more his brand grows, the more he wants to grow, the more unsettling it is for him. The more he wants to work hard.

‘Where is Sabyaaa?’ Just minutes before the show, our cute GOD of fashion is spotted holding hands with his favourite muse Rani Mukerji. Both Bengali babu mushai’s of sorts. Sabya is wearing the ultimate ‘IT’ piece from his collection, (let’s call it the Sabyasachi black sweater) with languid pair of jeans, white sneakers and his signature rose tinted glasses. The vibe of Sabyasachi was like ‘Kuch kuch hota hai Sabya, tum nahi samjhoge’.

Every girl loves him. Have we wondered why? Simply because he’s the only designer who really designs keeping in mind what makes majority of women happy. He’s so giving in his creativity and the biggest consumers of craft are women that the love that they have for Sabyasachi is coming from a space of immense joy, adoration and worship.

We are so grateful that we get to love a visionary like you Sabya.

Jewellery was always supposed to be a big deal at as there is nothing in the world that this designer loves more than designing jewellery and selling it.

In India there will be only two eras, one before Sabyasachi jewellery and one after. The brand launched their jewellery line in 2017 and it was all traditional and heritage Indian jewels inspired from different parts of India. The most innovative design language that Sabyasachi has ever worked the hardest on is fine jewellery. His high jewellery has all the signature codes of the brand - daring bold colours, finest craftsmanship, delicate married to bold layers, innovative motifs and forms.

You heard this from us first:
The biggest strength of Sabyasachi fine jewellery is that it’s beautiful and very appealing to a jewellery connoisseur. It doesn’t hide behind the ‘VALUE’ of the piece. You can’t box his jewellery in terms of mathematics - finest VVS diamonds, rarest gemstones, no oil, no inclusions, no heat, sizes, flawless, filling-non filling. Although his jewellery does mark the highest quality of its material, the size, scale, proportions are so fabulous that once you buy a piece of Sabyasachi jewellery, there is no other purchase that will ever make sense. You buy jewellery from Sabyasachi because you love the design and its desirability. And that is how jewellery buying should always be. How can purity be the only selling point I always told myself. I love good design as the most important part of jewellery.

The corporates will continue to sell jewellery like real estate and gold bricks. Sabyasachi will be a mega success in next 25 and many more years to come as he has the one missing ingredient that many lack in fine jewellery - PASSION. He’s the new poster boy whose very presence in this market will rubbish age old theories in a market currently driven with debates of natural diamonds vs lab grown diamonds.

Wakeup dear jewellers, smell the roses, India’s first DESIGNER fine jewellery brand is here to shake the world.

EMOTIONAL CORE:

Millions of us think that evokes nostalgia, the feeling of roots and home but Sabyasachi’s biggest core, his deepest emotion is to be able to ‘sell’. His emotional core is to be India’s most commercially successful designer. He’s so clever that he took 25 years to build this massive recognition, to be this name that will sell and what everyone wants. He cemented and created desire to be the ‘Sabyasachi bride’ in a majority of women. He enjoyed that success but the shape of things to come is way bigger than just bridal.

Ready-to-wear, global couture like clothes is not a new thing at Sabyasachi. It’s been years in the making. It’s his personal ambition to be a designer that conquers the world. He does have the brain muscle to make that happen. In 2015, we were honoured to have attended Sabyasachi’s iconic show called ‘Big Love’ which was a huge game changer for the brand. He was spinning with the idea of Ready-to-wear and was inching towards that. India is so ready for this as his patrons buy his bags all the time, the brides who buy Sabyasachi wedding wear have an eye to understand luxury materials, embroideries made with classic simple silhouettes. You don’t need to invent silhouettes in this country. India’s legacy is heritage is hand embroideries and textiles and Sabyasachi is inventing a lot in terms of engineered materials and embroideries that give the illusion of prints.

I am tired of Indian clothes and sometimes want a classic luxury shirt and buying a Sabyasachi shirt and his ultra couture coats is the ultimate aspiration that I have. Soon this country will echo this desire.

Be ready India, Sabaysachi is here to create a dent in the universe with his new business goals. And be ready dear America and the world, the new luxe, reinvented couture designer is an Indian and will show the world Indian’s true legacy. We at Bridelan, endorse Sabyasachi saying, “Together we are creating India’s first global luxury brand.”

Ralph Lauren and the likes will have to sit and take notice.
