Hi all,

As Ganpati festival is arriving, i want to share some thoughts about how to make this celebration worthwhile...

Firstly let me clear this out... Its nothing to cause any harm to anyones religious beliefs, (now a days its hard to say when someones religious feeligs are hurt)...

This year please ask your family members and guests not to bring any garlends, flowers, fruits or sweets, instead bring books ( any kind of books.... new, old, academic or non academic, any subject...). This books can be donated to any library or underprivileged children at the end of the festival.

As we all know, lots of sweets, fruits gathers at home which becomes stale if not used then and der... Same about the garlands and flowers, it all goes to nirmalya kalash the next day. Everyone pays heafty amount for these sweets and garlands, which turns out to be a kind of waste. Instead if you spend this money in buying books it can help someone in true sense.

This is the practice we have been following since past 7 years at our home. Even our family and friends are started observing same practice at their home too. We even give a perticular book to our guests as prasad.

Ganpati is God of Knowledge he would be more pleased with this gesture.
