A live recording from EVOLVE which was launched by Sanjay Dutta & Myself along with friends Arijit Basu & Priya Sen. A weekly affair on Tuesdays at the cosy H20, Khar (West), Mumbai.
I had just got my first laptop in 2005 and I started recording my sets to go back, have a mental map of the crowds response, check on the transition and sequence so I could improvise later. Little did I know, I could share this raw recording in future.
The idea was simple, push quality electronic underground music and also uplifting trance (back then) when the scene was dominated by Commercial & Bollywood music. The aim was not to replace anything but introduce cutting edge sounds, artists and experience for an audience hungry for it.
We had a great run- pure memories. The set has some technical glitches but that’s what makes it human. In a world of perfection, I am comfortable to put out the raw recording, just treated little bit for the basic dynamics. I remember the mixers channel was leaking and pitch bend had issues- but no stress, we used to manage and make sure we deliver close to perfection.
