"Ghevar - That sweet of Savan which is softer than silk, sweeter than relationships.. "
This was hundreds of years ago..
When Sawan first landed with clouds on the hot sand of Rajasthan, a slogan was killed in the whole Marudhar. The season of love was blooming in the hearts.
100. 5 A queen of that time sat on the swings of Savan, was lost in the memory of her mother. Every time Sawan comes, she remembers the special sweets made in mother's kitchen - which used to fall like rain, and wet the heart.
The king understood the separation of the queen and called the royal pudding:
"Give my queen a taste of monsoon... A taste that relaxes her like mother's lap.
The royal pudding again made a net dessert out of ghee, flour and cold water - so many months that the wind blows in it, as if the first drop of rain fell on the roof. Chashni poured over her - with sweetness of love, and decorated with mave, pistachio, rose and saffron - like queen's bindi, bangle and saree.
When the queen ate the first kaur, her eyes got moist..
"This is not sweets.. Mother's affection is.. Remembering Mayke. And there is a gift of Savan. "
And since then this sweet was named "Ghevar". A sweet that does not just give sweetness - but reaches relationship, customs and soul.
Even today: It is custom to send sister to Dhevar from mother in Savan.
Ghevar Khana on Teej-Raksha Bandhan is a tradition of love. And it is auspicious sign to give a wedding, tilak or festival.
