Cancellation of AMAAR O’ DURGA – October 2026

Dear Friends, Partners, Guests, and Well-Wishers,

Greetings from SHE

This is to formally inform you that the AMAAR O’ DURGA event, which was scheduled to be held in October 2026 at Rotary Sadan, Kolkata, has been cancelled due to unavoidable circumstances.

This decision has not been an easy one, especially considering the immense support, enthusiasm, and goodwill that the initiative has received from our partners, participants, well-wishers, and the community.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and deeply regret any disruption this cancellation may bring to your plans.

AMAAR O’ DURGA has always stood for dignity, inclusion, courage, and celebrating individuals who have overcome extraordinary challenges. The spirit and purpose behind the initiative remain very close to our hearts, and we hope to return with the event at a more appropriate time.

We request everyone to kindly consider the October programme as cancelled until further notice. Any future development or rescheduling will be communicated officially.

We thank you for your understanding, patience, continued trust, and unwavering support.

Brought up in the scenic Doon Valley, the love of books and mountains was but natural, currently settled in the City of Joy, Ms Tania Sen is a nature lover, traveller, trekker and Climate Literacy advocate
In her words, 'IT NEVER HURTS TO LOOK FOR SUNSHINE'. Sunshine for Ms. Sen is to connect, collaborate, co-create, ideate and innovate with individuals and organisations , who dare to think differently, have a futuristic vision, focus on SDGs, want to revolutionize education, endeavour to recognize individual human qualities , value them and strive to prepare skilled, creative, and balanced personalities.
Environment and Climate Literacy has been a passion of hers since school days.

#1- The first social cause in this respect was taken up in the late 90s to save the indigenous crop and plant varieties in the Doon valley under 'Navdanya' a dream project by famous environmentalist- Vandana Shiva.

#2 - After relocating to Kolkata an association with SwitchON, Paushtik life and Prokreeti led to working on several projects to promote local plants , vegetation, creating awareness on pesticide and chemical free sustainable products.

#3- Promotion of Climate Literacy through Energy Swaraj and Climate Clock is an ongoing project.

#4- Another unique program is the UNESCO Ocean Literacy of which Ms Sen is an active member and has been a speaker in International Symposiums on saving Ocean Life. 'Tsunamika', a project by Auroville Pondicherry featured Ms Sen for her path breaking initiatives in educating school children on Ocean Literacy.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Refuse and Upcyle is the message and hence the association with Best Friends Society and Hulladek for E- waste management.

A postgraduate in Chemistry, Ms Tania Sen is qualified in Leadership and Management from the Asian Institute of Management, Singapore, she holds a professional Post graduate Diploma in Child Rights Law from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore. She has been appointed as the Ambassador for Child Safety, Health and Wellness by the UK Based organisation -My Body is My Body for West Bengal. She has been awarded Certificate of Excellence in Career Guidance and Counseling from the internationally acclaimed IC3 institute and has mentored several students, teachers and parents.
Her professional life began as Research Assistant in the Indian Institute of Petroleum, a CSIR laboratory and from there she moved on to work with schools under DAV, DPS and Ashok Hall Group. Associated with the K-12 education sector for more than 25 years, having wide experience in Schools affiliated to ICSE, CBSE and West Bengal Board, currently she is the Principal of Techno India Group Public School-Garia, an initiative of Techno India Group.
Since 2021 she has been assaying the role of CBSE District Coordinator for South 24 Parganas to supervise Training and Capacity Building Programs of the CBSE schools in the region. For over a decade she has been a Resource Person with Government bodies, NGOs, Principals Association, Skill Agencies and Foreign Educational Institutes and is a Master Trainer certified by UNESCO and ISTM.
She has been acknowledged and recognized for her efforts by several reputed organizations and has been the recipient of prestigious National and International awards.

Mahtab Jabeen is a dedicated social worker, humanitarian, author, and poetess whose life’s mission revolves around compassion, unity, and silent service to humanity. As the founder of Peace in Unity, a humble yet impactful initiative established during the lockdown, she began her journey with the sole purpose of extending aid to families struggling to survive during the pandemic and spreading the message of unity. What started as a small act of kindness gradually evolved into a continuous movement devoted to feeding the underprivileged, distributing clothing, building homes, sponsoring education for poor children, supporting in relieff funds and promoting peace through togetherness and humanity.

An ardent animal lover, Miss Jabeen has been selflessly feeding more than 200 pigeons every single day for the past four and a half years. Beyond feeding them, she lovingly shelters injured and sick birds, nurses them back to health, and has even arranged safe spaces where pigeons can nurture and raise their young. Her compassion towards all living beings reflects the depth of her gentle and nurturing spirit.

Alongside her sister, who is also the co-founder of Peace in Unity, Mahtab Jabeen continues to work tirelessly yet privately, believing that true charity shines brightest in silence. Together, they strive to create change not only physically but spiritually—touching lives through kindness, empathy, and unity wherever they go. Their work extends from feeding the poor and supporting animal welfare to sponsoring education and rebuilding lives with dignity.

Apart from her humanitarian endeavors, Mahtab Jabeen is also an accomplished author and poetess whose words carry profound messages of healing and emotional resilience. Through her poetry, couplets, and literary works, she inspires countless hearts toward self-discovery and inner peace. Her latest novel, Healing Slowly, beautifully explores the journey of emotional healing and spiritual growth.
She also dedicates her time to visiting old age homes, spreading messages of love, unity, and hope among the elderly. Deeply committed to serving society away from public applause, she has gracefully carried forward her humanitarian work for over six years with humility, sincerity, and unwavering devotion.

For her remarkable contributions to society and humanity, she has also been honored with the prestigious Social Heroes Award presented by Kolkata Heroes and Social work award by Best Friendz Society for her remarkable and unwavering support to the NGO.
