হাঁটুর ক্ষয়জনিত সমস্যা বা Osteoarthritis-এর চিকিৎসায় দুই ধরনের Surgery করা হয়—Total Knee Replacement (TKR) এবং Partial Knee Replacement (PKR)।

কিন্তু এই দুটির মধ্যে পার্থক্য কী?

🦵 Total Knee Replacement (TKR): হাঁটুর একাধিক অংশে ক্ষয় থাকলে সাধারণত এই পদ্ধতিতে হাঁটুর ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত Joint Surface প্রতিস্থাপন করা হয়।

🦵 Partial Knee Replacement (PKR): হাঁটুর ক্ষয় যদি শুধু একটি Compartment-এ সীমাবদ্ধ থাকে এবং রোগী উপযুক্ত হন, তাহলে শুধু সেই অংশটি প্রতিস্থাপন করা সম্ভব।

দুই পদ্ধতিরই কিছু Advantages ও Limitations রয়েছে। কোন Surgery সবচেয়ে ভালো হবে, তা নির্ভর করে হাঁটুর ক্ষয়ের মাত্রা, Ligament-এর অবস্থা, রোগীর শারীরিক পরিস্থিতি এবং দৈনন্দিন কাজের প্রয়োজনের উপর।
