It was Jan 23rd, 2017 a cool winter morning, everything was well planned for the wedding reception at VGP Golden Beach Resort, but nothing went as planned. That morning when i was about to leave the house a news flashed on TV saying all our friends who were protesting in support of Jallikattu over the past few weeks were forcefully removed from Marina Beach. I was filled with rage and tears as i have also been a part of the protest over the past four days. I did my job planning and organising this wedding reception during the day and volunteered in the beach during night. Knowing what to do next took the cab to the resort as it was a BIG day for someone who has been totally depending on us. With roads been blocked and tensions around the city, was only able to make it to the resort around noon and the props were stuck on roads around the city. Not knowing what's going around we were worried about our friends at the protest, and with the props not getting to the resort on time. Finally after the tension in the city began to cool down and the truck with the props started to come in one by one and we started to work as they came in. We were way behind our planned schedule and with a very little time to pull this event together. At last this is the outcome of our work that day, a beautiful evening reception at the beach that we always wanted to do.
