Open Call: YUI–PORT Artist Residency 2026 | Niigata, Japan (Funded Residency)

Residency Period:
• Up to 90 days between April 1 – June 30, 2026
Located near the Sea of Japan in a former junior high school turned creative hub, the YUI–PORT Artist-in-Residence program in Niigata City invites artists from around the world to live, create, and connect with local communities.
Artists receive:
• Free accommodation in the Artist Dormitory
• Free studio space (Workshop Gallery 1 or 2)
• ¥200,000 production support + ¥2,800 daily stipend (max 90 days)
• Round-trip travel support (up to ¥200,000 for international artists)
• Research and technical assistance from YUI–PORT staff
• Opportunities for citizen exchange activities (e.g., workshops, talks)
