Puthiyankam Vela (also known as the Puthiyankam-Kattussery Vela) is a grand annual temple festival celebrated at the Sree Puthukulangara Bhagavathy Temple in Alathur, Palakkad. It is one of the most prominent "Vela" festivals in the region, known for its vibrant processions, traditional percussion, and competitive spirit between two regions: Puthiyankam and Kattussery.

The Kavassery Pooram (also spelled Kaavashheri) is one of the most significant temple festivals in the Alathur region of Palakkad, Kerala. It is held annually at the Parakkat Sree Bhagavathy Temple to honor the deity, who is believed to be the protector of the region.
