While many wedding couples opt for traditional themes and settings, there is a growing trend toward uniquely themed destination weddings such as Hawaiian shirts and grass skirts for a Hawaiian beach resort wedding with a luau for the reception. Some themed weddings are informal traditions of garden weddings or weddings held at the work location of the couples such as school teacher nuptials held in the school library or auditorium. Unusual themed weddings include vampire weddings and Shrek themed weddings. Another unusual idea is to combine the concept of a destination wedding with an unusual activity such as sky diving or mountain climbing.
