Marathoners for Kanyakumari Marathon

Those who would like to leave a mark at the Southern end of India's Marathon map can register for this, at a cost that doesn't leave a hole in your pockets; but it can fill up your lungs with the air of Indian Ocean, Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea.

If you arrive there on the previous day evening, you may even get lucky to see the dusk and dawn as well; and may even get a chance to run along with our DGP Dr. Sylendra Babu. Not many states in our country are fortunate to have a DGP fit enough to take a Marathon run.

I suggest to not miss this opportunity, as they may start a Full Marathon by next year, and it may go international like Ladakh Marathon because of it's unique geographical location, that is know worldwide as Cape Comarin - equivalent to Cape Town in South Africa.

It's ₹ 700.00 for 21K with a t-shirt, medal, Bib and Breakfast.

All refreshment including water, fruits and chikki provided in hydration points.

A minimum of 3000 runners are expected to participate in this run.

Today, we take pride in unveiling the new Kanyakumari Marathon Logo.

Some call Kanyakumari as the very end of the Indian subcontinent. We believe it is the beginning of vast India, marked by its beautiful monuments and vibrant culture.

Since its launch in 2017, Kanyakumari Marathon has been evolving with the primary goal to promote running and fitness in the southernmost edge of our country.

Apart from the Vivekananda Rock and Gandhi Mandapam, Kanyakumari has the beautifully carved 133 feet tall stone statue of the ancient philosopher Tiruvalluvar, poet and author of Thirukkural. Tirukkural provides you with an opportunity to deal with the everyday virtues of an individual wisely.

Watching the rising and setting sun from Kanyakumari while admiring the long stretches of sand and the breathtaking beaches is going to be a memorable treat for the runners.

The convergence of the mighty three oceans (the Bay of Bengal, the Indian Ocean, and the Arabian Sea) symbolizes the arrival of the absolute beginners, the recreational runners, and the professional athletes from all over the world.

Come and experience this incredible part of the world by running this marathon, which will be the Thiruveni Sangamam (திரிவேணி சங்கமம்) of runners.

Payment for registrations can be made through credit/debit cards, online bank transfer and through UPI. Online payments carry a surcharge of 4% which is added to the amount.

This is where our planned Kanyakumari Marathon may start and end. We may plan to have four categories of running - 10K, 21K, 32K and 42K.

We may plan to give a T-Shirt, a Cap, a water bottle while collecting their BIB.

All participants will get a medal with an engraving of Vivekananda Rock and Thiruvalluvar Statue.

We may reward top three prizes in each category we plan according to the varied segments of participants we may get registered before the Marathon is scheduled to start. The prize money very much depends on the number of participants we get. If we get more than 5000 participants registered, we may increase the prize money and if we get less than 1500 participants, we may decrease the prize money.

This "Marathoners for Kanyakumari Marathon" Page was created to unite people all across India, who are either professional runners or aspiring runners, who may have ran and/or running in different corners of our country, and have a thought or inspiration that we should also run a marathon in the southern most end of our country - Kanyakumari - and make it as popular as Ladakh Marathon - a marathon that happens in the northern most end of our country.

Let us also hope that Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) certifies "Kanyakumari Marathon" and make it part of it's annual list of marathons happening around the world.

We are not currently seeking any financial support for this "Kanyakumari Marathon" project, and are only seeking support by the number of peoples' approvals, which may get sponsors at a later time.
