Sky lanterns have been the cause of a few UFO sightings. When the Chinese lanterns take to the sky they emit a warm glow that can be seen for many kilometres. They will soar in the air until the fuel cell burns out at which time it will fizzle and go out. This has been reported a few times as a UFO sighting from those who did not know it was a flying paper lantern. 😃
