Raahgiri Day at Sector 90 New Gurugram was held with much flamboyance. The Raahgiri Foundation with DLF Garden City and United Association were instrumental in organizing the event with much grandiose. Residents of Sector 90 New Gurugram reclaimed their streets and continued to sustainable and healthy community development. Over 1000 people came to attend the event.
Raahgiri Day is an open street event. It is India's first sustained car-free initiative. 1-5 km of street is cordoned off for people to reclaim the streets dominated by cars and celebrate their urban lives with activities such as walking, cycling, zumba, aerobics, yoga and sports.
This week the various activities included zumba, aerobics, and yoga. Children had occupied the street by playing cricket, football, basketball and badminton. Little kids from the neighborhood were seen painting and sketching sceneries.
Overall it was a splendid event with audience coming early Sunday morning to have a fruitful time doing physical activities and having fun with friends and family. New Gurugram welcomes all residents to Raahgiri Day next Sunday 26th May 2019.
