Aarohan the Indian Music society of SRCC is organizing an Intra college singing competition - AANANDOTSAV, to mark the celebration of Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. It will be held on *6th August,2022* in offline mode.

The performance must be based on the theme "Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav" i.e. Patriotic songs only.

They say, “Every new beginning comes with some beginning’s end”.

The previous year was one hell of a ride for Aarohan with some of the best initiatives, adventures and performances. But what’s even better is the collection of beautiful memories that we have created through the year. We cannot thank the previous cabinet enough for their contribution towards these wonderful experiences.
That being said, it is time for the legacy of Aarohan to be passed down to the 2022-23 cabinet, who now shoulder the responsibility of taking this society to greater heights.

With great privilege we present to you, Chirag Sahu, "The best teacher we could have ever asked for".

Words fall short to describe how amazingly talented Chirag is. All of us,to this day, remain in awe of his in-depth knowledge of Indian Classical music. You can see him randomly come up with beautiful renditions of different ragas and create super-complex sargams within minutes.

You can hear him saying "Hope I'll do justice" in the beginning of a performance and then he'll just leave you speechless with his mellifluous voice (Don't forget to listen "Tu Hi Rey" from him).

On the non-musical side of things, he is also the most chill, jolly and fun-loving person you will ever meet. He will make sure that all of you cherish each and every moment of the party to the maximum possible extent(iykwim xD).

Having cravings at midnight? Chirag can give you some best suggestions but beware those are gonna be some of the weiredest food combos. His on point mimicry from Modiji to Nana patekar will definitely win your heart.

He is definitely the most hard-working and dedicated person, and his contribution to Aarohan has been immeasurable.The legacy left behind by him in Aarohan is a glorious one and will be cherished by the juniors in the years to come.

Meet Vishnupriya ,"The Heart of Aarohan", an extremely talented, pretty, passionate and warm-hearted person. If the feeling of immense bliss has a sound, it has to be Vishnupriya’s voice. Listening to her sing just makes you want to be stuck in the moment forever.

Although She might seem very strict while practicing but she can be the coolest person to hang out with after practice sessions. Getting a reply from her might seem difficult, but don’t worry she will definitely reply within 3-5 business days :)

Vishnupriya is all for getting everything right to the last detail, which takes extra effort, but the result is ALWAYS worth it. She is a person, who has a solution to almost all your problems.

While she can handle complex, technical classical pieces with ease, there isn’t a bollywood song she can’t pull off. She always has some of the best ideas to bring to the table, and most of them work flawlessly. Have a habit of missing Deadlines? No worries, You will definitely get a reminder from her 5-10 days before it.

PS:- Watch out for her death stare if you have not been practising regularly. :)

Here comes the bag full of surprises, our beloved Secretary Ananya . She might seem like she is too innocent , but guess what , she really is. (Just hear the hindi cuss words from her once and you will roll on the floor laughing).

She is the “chota packet bada dhamaka” of aarohan with a beautiful husky voice. Ananya has in-depth knowledge of Carnatic music and can teach the toughest sargams in the most efficient manner. She’s so empathetic that if someone sings off scale, she’ll just say “I think you went off” in her cute voice because she doesn’t know how to scold the juniors.

Ananya and long hair can never go hand in hand. Her fashion sense is something that is a true portrayal of herself and looks ethereal in anything she wears.

Her love for travelling can explicitly be seen through her instagram highlights. She can be the coolest hangout buddy while being awkward in some of the conversations (her facial expressions are to watch for).

Ps: Just open your lunch box in front of her and see her getting all excited.

Hey, I think I have a technical diff…woosh He’s already there. Meet Harsh Kashyap, the tech guru of the camp.

If you spot someone with a guitar and a JBL portable speaker together then 9/10 times that's Harsh. Knowing how to keep in touch with the most and creating a space of comfort with the ones who come across makes this personality stand out.

From making everything sound good in a recording to making everything look marvelous in a post, this man can do it all.

Trust us you don’t want to miss his lectures on theory of music. His guitar performances can put you in a different realm. This guitarist knows how to play with the notes. Moreover he knows how to play with the colors as well... yes he's a mesmerizing artist. (go stalk him)

He is undoubtedly the most effortlessly funny guy you'd ever encounter. You just need to stay with him for an hour and you’ll be laughing on his lame jokess as well.

Ps: He is a proper food connoisseur so you can always count on him to take you to amazing food joints.

If you Hear someone say "Yaar kuch khane chalte hai" even in the serious situations, it's none other than our "कश्मीर की कली" , Anchal Koul. She is the most beautiful person inside out with full energy and enthusiasm (the power house of Aarohan).She doesn't need a chill pill, because she is the coolest of them all.

One of the best seniors who has a dulcet voice with bags of character in her tone. You will always find her sitting in the front lawn with her guitar (playing: gulabi aankhein) and grabbing all the attention with her beautiful and mesmerizing voice.

Want to listen to some beautiful covers? Just Go and check out her Instagram ( Did we mention that she is also an influencer?).You can always find an aesthetic photo with a romantic poetry on her insta story.

Her management skills are so versatile that she has outdone the responsibilities beyond her post in teaching juniors.You won't feel any less lively around her bright and bubbly persona (practice sessions are no fun without her).Want your work done even at the last moment or wanna vent out ? She is the person you go to .On a scale from 1 to 10, she is a perfect 11.

Internals yet good mood , seems so impractical right!? But this person stays calm and cool in the season of internals as well. "Tension na lo, jo hoga dekha jayega" - is the line that you can usually hear from him.

Meet Sanchit K, our very own sergeant. Although a man of a very few words whenever he speaks, they are gonna be valuable words. He sometimes makes us all say “humpe thodi daya to kar hum nanhe balak hai” but don't let the strict guy aura of him fool you, if you crack a joke he will be the first one to laugh.

He is the kind of guy that will be the first to arrive to a practice session..or a party and the last to leave. The management skills are almost as smooth as his moves on the dance floor, where you might mistake him for Hritik Roshan.

If a problem knocks on the door he is the first one to answer it. It goes without saying that you can rely on him for almost anything.(You can always tag along with him for a walk till vishwavidyalaya metro station after college.)

Though he claims the fact that he doesn't know much about Classical music, but his knowledge about beats and taals leaves everyone speechless. Ghazals and jugalbandi of various instruments are always present in his YouTube playlist.

Just like his dholak does to a song, he adds life to any conversation he is a part of. Did you spot a wild human wandering around JNU campus after college hours? Yes that's probably Sanchit.

PS : You can always go munch with him during practice hours with his ghar ka khana (poha)

Meet Poulami Sarkar, the Bengali girl of Aarohan. Her intense passion for music and drive to learn new musical genres is incredible. Her musical knowledge is on another level. You can listen to her sing for hours and still your heart would not be pacified. Whether it's classical or Bollywood she sings everything effortlessly.

Her versatility is OMG.. Her enthusiasm for teaching new skills to juniors qualifies her for the position of Vocal Coordinator. She has been so keen on the singing of her junior members. She is always willing to try and teach new stuff to others and never hesitates to learn new things.

Although she is very strict while practicing, but she is also super fun. You definitely don't wanna miss out on the treats she gives when her mood is good….Sweet chilli potatoes and vanilla shakes are never ending stories!!!

She is also a constant source of motivation for juniors. Are you disappointed? Are you feeling stressed about the exams? Then, Poulami is the best solution for you. Just talk to her and everything will be sorted. She is the best person to ask for advice regarding your studies (especially if you are from Eco. Hons.)

If you can imagine a person who is sweet and strict at the same time, Havisha will be the perfect example of it.

As patient as job If you ask, she can repeat lessons over a million times without breaking a sweat.She is an amazing teacher and an even better friend who guides you like a mentor and can chill with you like your best mate.Trust us when we say that she is the best metro companion ever. She can be your 2 am person and can go to any extent to help you!

Deadlines? Yes, she is the first one to panic but then finishing the work even before the deadline is like a piece of cake for her. She has a tendancy to underestimate her musical abilities but when she sings she leaves everyone spellbound.

If its about being naughty or a converse about double meaning jokes, she just stays out and has a "clean chit" for this. Also, She'll start whispering "shree shree ram ram", if by chance she gets involved in this, as if she did a huge sin.

PS:- Havisha Tuli is a die hard BTS fan so just think thrice before you say anything Anti-BTS in front of her.
