The winner this year at Vajra is The Forbidden Ritual. Congratulations people. You guys simply rocked. We were glad to see such great audiences this time. Vajra this year created a new benchmark which we promise to raise the next year. We hope all the participants and the audience had fun. Thanks for being a lovely set of people.

Band 9: NiraStra
Formed in August 2014 in UTM, Shillong, NiraStra started its reaction since the day of its inception. The band members comes from geographically dispersed areas and this diversity can be identified by the music we play.

Band 8: Dementia
The band origins in dehradun, founded by Amit Chandrawal, an alternative rock singer. The band originally was alternative and classic rock. After the joining of, Prantik Kundu, the band changed it's genre to thrash and funk metal. The initial line-up was soon changed and three new members were introduced together, viz. Siddharth Thakur (Drums), Ali Zaidi (Rhythm Guitar) and Dev Banerjee (Bass, backing vocals). After the band's almost new line-up, the band again changed it's genre to doom and atmospheric metal. "Dementia" now composes original songs of the same genre and a few thrash covers. The music of the band is influenced by bands like Agalloch, Ghost Brigade, Porcupine Tree, Radiohead. The band's name comes from the disorder dementia which is a psychic disorder and causes the humans to forget every memory and mix up thoughts and ideas. The idea of "Dementia" is to compose music which causes a state of psychedelic, atmospheric, trance.

Band 7: Diabolical Bloodshed

A small hill station in the Himalayan region, Dehradun has given birth to numerous bands and the latest and the most ferocious band to have existed from this peaceful town is Diabolical Bloodshed. Influenced by groups such as Mayhem, Emperor, Behemoth and Cradle of Filth, Diabolical Bloodshed was formed in June 2013. The band incorporates various forms of metal ranging from Black Metal, Old School Death Metal, Symphonic Metal and Gothic Metal. The band's music is characterized by highly distorted guitars played with tremolo picking, blast beats, shrieked vocals and fast tempos.

Band 5 : Amogh

Amogh is an Indie-Rock band from Dehradun, originally comprising of Archit Aggarwal, Sukanya Mitra and Soumya Deshawar; later joined by Vaibhav Soni on drums, Sammy on lead guitars, Purujit on bass, Sneha and Aseem on Vocals.
The compositions are basically a beautiful combination of different member's musical taste and influences, which can be a closely related to the genre: Indie-Rock.
Band's influences are composers like Amit Trivedi, David Gilmour; bands like Parikrama, Daughtry, Porcupine Tree, and the soulful performances by various artists on Coke Studio.
The songs are a result of experiments with rhythm and song structure, added with lyrics that will enthrall the audience.

Band 3 : Troglodytes

Troglodytes is a deathcore metal band from dehradun.
Troglodytes was formed in 2014 by Shubhanshu Saini, Vivek Verma & Ashish gupta. Alok Chandrawal and Ronjoy Kaushik Barthakhur joined the band later.
The genre of music is deathcore which lead to naming the band 'troglodytes' which meant cave dweller.
Troglodytes performs deathcore, which is a fusion between death metal and metalcore produces destructive breakdowns.
The band's influences are wide variety of artists such as Lamb of god, Su***de Silence ,WhiteChapel,
Dying Fetus , Suffocation and Cannibal Co**se.
The band's vocalist fluctuates between death growls used in death metal and
screamed vocals used in heavy metal.
The drumming is very fast-paced,
grindcore influenced, and employs a liberal use of double bass drumming and blast beats.
Guitarist and bassist uses tremolo blast beats and heavy riffs inspired by lamb of god, whitechapel and dying fetus.
