Know your artist- Geography Of The Moon are a Scottish-Italian/French post-punk band based in Glasgow, formed after a chance meeting in East London in the summer of 2016. Since 2021, they have lived largely on the road, touring relentlessly across Europe and Asia.
Blending haunting, magnetic vocals with sharp indie lyricism, the band create hypnotic soundscapes built from looped guitars, pulsing drum machines and searing, off-kilter guitar work. Drawing inspiration from post-punk, psych rock, new wave, indie rock and pop, they have forged a distinctive sound of their own: Death Pop.
Nothing is fixed on stage. Geography Of The Moon thrive on spontaneity, often drifting into improvised passages and unexpected sonic detours that push their songs into psychedelic territory. What began as a joke in 2021—that they could play 1,000 shows in less than a decade—quickly evolved into a self-declared “never-ending tour.” Since then, they have performed more than 1,400 shows, including a headline appearance at Shambhala Festival (Thailand), while touring extensively throughout Japan, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Nepal and India. Summer 2026 will see them return to stages across Europe and the UK.
Their debut album, Fake Flowers Never Die (2020), attracted the attention of BBC Radio 6 DJs and was included by Vic Galloway in BBC Scotland’s 25 Bands to Watch in 2021. Their 2022 EP, The Unraveling, was selected as Record of the Week on BBC Radio nan Gàidheal, while its lead single reached No. 11 in The Herald’s list of the Top Scottish Songs of 2022.
Released in 2024, Aberdeen Hiroshima is a dark and atmospheric collection that blends post-punk grit with ethereal shoegaze textures, shimmering guitars, dub influences and spoken-word passages. Exploring themes of faith, belonging, feminism, politics, magic and quantum physics, the album was named Album of the Week by Parisian radio station Le Village Pop.
