Freedom was not only fought for. It was sung, written, performed, and imagined.

From Bharati’s poetry to Nazrul’s songs, from Tagore’s words to D.K. Pattammal’s voice, and from theatre to the many artists who turned culture into a force for change — India’s freedom movement found a powerful voice in its artists.

This Independence Day, we remember those who reminded us that art can challenge, unite, inspire, and move a nation.

Because freedom is not just the story of a nation becoming independent.
It is also the story of the voices that helped us imagine what freedom could be.

Meet Arun Kumar, a Chennai-based Graphic Designer, Art Director, and visual storyteller whose work lives at the intersection of cinema, design, culture, and imagination.

From fan art and alternative movie posters to large-scale film campaigns, Arun’s journey is a reminder that great visual storytelling isn’t just about making something look good—it’s about making people stop, feel, and remember.

His philosophy says it best:
