Anagha Manikantan
Hailing from a family of musicians, Anagha inherited her musical prowess from her father and guru, Guruvayoor Dr. T V Manikandan, a professor at the University of Delhi's faculty of Music and Fine Arts. Guided by the eminent Violin Maestro Padma Bhushan, Sangita Kalanidhi Prof. T. N. Krishnan, Anagha had her formal debut performance in 2019.
Initiating her musical journey at the age of 7, Anagha has graced renowned stages such as the T N Krishnan Foundation in Chennai and performed at prestigious venues like the Sri Krishna Temple Guruvayoor in Kerala. Her notable appearances include events at the India International Center, Triveni Chamber Theater, Ilaya Bharatam, and the Dilliyil Tiruvayyaru series of Delhi Tamil Sangam.
Beyond the borders of India, Anagha showcased her talent as a cultural ambassador in Japan, representing India as part of the Japanese Government's cultural exchange program in 2019. She also participated in the Malaysia International Carnatic Music Festival 2021.
Anagha's achievements include being a panelist on Yuvavani, All India Radio, receiving the Young Vocalist Award from Sanatan Sangit Samiti, and winning the Gold Medal for Classical Singing from Nehru Bal Samiti Delhi. She was honored with the CCRT scholarship in 2012 by the Government of India and has received awards such as the Bala Krishnan Memorial Award from Gayatri Fine Arts and the V. Nataraja Iyer Memorial Award from Tala Bhakthi. She is also a winner of the National Yuva Pratibha Singing Talent Hunt in 2023, a competition adjudged by renowned artists Padma Bhushan Smt. Sudha Raghunathan and Padma Shri Sh. Shankar Mahadevan. She was a finalist for the MS Subbulakshmi Voice of the Year Award conducted by The Hindu in 2022.
