Marriage halls in Tamil Nadu have introduced new rules. Bookings now require a 50% rent advance. If canceled within 5 days, ₹5,000 will be deducted. For cancellations within 20 days, only 25% of the advance will be returned. If canceled after 20 days, the full hall rent must be paid. Booking will also require Aadhaar copies of the bride, groom, and parents to prevent child marriages and illegal second marriages. These rules help hall owners manage costs with only 45 muhurtham days yearly.
