Body-on-Frame Architecture: This is Hyundai's first ladder-frame platform, a shift from their traditional monocoque SUVs to compete directly with rivals like the Jeep Wrangler, Ford Bronco, and Land Rover Defender.
"Art of Steel" Aesthetic: The exterior features a boxy, upright silhouette with a Liquid Titanium finish. Notable design elements include Morse code "H" DRLs, vertically stacked LED headlights, and 37-inch mud-terrain tyres on 18-inch alloy wheels.
While the Boulder itself is a design study, its platform will underpin a production midsize pickup truck and potentially a related SUV for the U.S. market by 2030. The architecture is designed to support internal combustion, hybrid, and fully electric powertrains.
