Tutoring one's own can be so difficult, challenging, annoying, intimidating, thought provoking, fun, crazy all at once. At times it was like pulling my hairs out. Nothing I say can express the feel. But it was so fulfilling and a heartwarming experience. Got to learn a lot from him. We make a good team I guess.

Endless chatter or yapping (in his words) numerous clash of ideas, constant empiring by the father, motivational speeches (Indian parents' style - ranging from emotional speeches to empty threats, including silent treatments) Promise of biriyani from his uncle, group whatsapp calls from his aunt, grandparents and friends, reward deals, and the list goes on.

So much potential and talent!!!! Looking forward eagerly for future projects with him.

Reds, Blues and Oranges

My first piece in canvas shading technique. My tutor introduced me to the concept of fauvism an influential art movement in France in 1905 characterized by choice of bold, intense colours. This has inturn inspired me with the colour choices.

I found the technique very forgiving, free flowing and very meditative. But also at times it was like problem solving - blending of colour and stitches. I found it challenging to work with the Girraffe , like my tutor said it was an unusual subject for canvas shading.

I am pretty happy with the outcome and this piece has earned me an award National Embroidery Award 2025.

Proud moment - Memories to be cherished forever.

I am immensely happy and proud to share with you all that my son and I won the National Embroidery Competition 2025. It feels both magical and surreal. I take this opportunity to congratulate all the winners for amazing works.

Thank you for the wonderful platform to showcase our skills, also for motivating and encouraging us to explore the world of embroidery further.
