First official Half Marathon.
Pachamari Monsoon 2023🏃🏻✅
I registered for the event with my friends and started training for it in parallel to .3 under the guidance of Praveen Sir with .in 🏊🚴🏃🏻
The training routine was on point & smooth. The excitement level was high and I even ordered a new pair of running shoes so I can practice in the last week prior to the race. 👣
Unfortunately I fell sick because of the flu just 6 Days before the event. 🤒🤧
Got sad & a little worried about the participation, I decided to take complete bed rest for 3 days straight & skipped all the scheduled training workouts running, swimming & strength Yoga session with the hope of faster recovery. On Thursday evening I started feeling better as the fever was gone but the cough and cold were still there. Forgetting about the Sub 2 hour Target, the only thing that was in my mind was participating in the race & finishing without any injury and faint. Friends kept motivating & I received positive energy from various friends and well wishers.
On Friday evening, I messaged Dr. Priya Mam about the situation, she checked my resting HR and said "Your RHR is far better than many athletes, so don't worry about the event". When a Doctor who herself is an endurance athlete, stated these words my morale picked up the boost and I gained back my confidence.😊
On Saturday morning I left for Pachamari with my friends, collected our bibs & met other friends on the counter. After lunch we headed to our hotel and found out our booking got cancelled because of some issues between OYO and the property owner. We complained about it to OYO but they said they won't be able to help with anything as each and every hotel is booked due to the weekend rush and Marathon. (Bas isi ki kami aur thi 😤) Anyhow we managed our accommodation by the evening (that's again a long story saved for later).
Had a sound sleep after all the struggle and wake up fresh in the morning. Started running at a slower pace & easy HR for 2KM then picked up the pace & finished the run in 2Hr 2Min. I was surprised!! 🤐

Almost done with everything needed and Team Bhopal is ready to race the world's highest Ultra Cycling event "The Great Himalayan Ultra" by Inspire India.
It's been four months of planning, prepration and training for the race. We all have sacrificed so many things on various levels to be here for the event and now looking forward for our best shot.
Many of you have been supporting and sending wishes for us. A Big thanks to all of you on the behalf of the entire team.

The race will start on 27th August early morning
LEH - Thiksey - Lamayuru - Kargil - Drass and back covering around 600Kms and more than 10,000 metes of elevation gain within the cutoff time 36 Hours.
