एक समय सिंधुरासुर नाम का एक शक्तिशाली और क्रूर असुर था। उसके आतंक से तीनों लोकों में हाहाकार मचा हुआ था। वह खुद को अमर मानता था और देवताओं को भी परेशान कर रहा था। ऋषियों और देवताओं की प्रार्थना पर भगवान गणेश ने बालक रूप में अवतार लिया।बाल गणेश और सिंधुरासुर के बीच भयंकर युद्ध हुआ। सिंधुरासुर अपनी माया और शक्ति का घमंड कर रहा था, लेकिन बाल गणेश ने अपनी सूंड (वक्रतुंड) से उस पर प्रहार किया। गणेश जी ने अपनी सूंड से उसे ज़ोर से दबोचा और घायल कर दिया। जब सिंधुरासुर पराजित हुआ, तब उसने गणेश जी से क्षमा मांगी। गणेश जी ने उसका उद्धार किया। युद्ध के बाद सिंधुरासुर के रक्त और शरीर के लेप को गणेश जी ने अपने मस्तक पर लगाया। तभी से भगवान गणेश को सिंदूर प्रिय हुआ और उन्हें सिंदूर चढ़ाने की परंपरा शुरू हुई। ❤️
