Early mornings, hot kitchens, handwritten recipes, and countless batches made with care — this is what goes behind every home chef order. 👩‍🍳🔥
Because the best food doesn’t come from factories.
It comes from hands that cook with heart.

From home kitchens to global opportunities — that’s the vision driving change. ✨

At this inspiring business session, I Soumya Shankar a food industry expert shared how home chefs can transform their passion for cooking into sustainable and scalable food brands. From recipe standardization and food safety to branding, packaging, and building a legacy mindset — every insight was focused on helping home-based food entrepreneurs grow with confidence.

My mission is clear: empowering 1000 home chefs to turn their passion into global brands. 🌍🍲

Soumya Shankar said something that really hit home 🎯

We've grown up eating "authentic" food at restaurants — but authentic for who, exactly?

The real stuff? That lived in our dadi's kitchen. In the way she added a pinch of this and a handful of that. No measurements. No shortcuts.

And somewhere along the way… we stopped learning it.

Have we lost it forever, or is there still time? Drop your thoughts below 👇

From the bustling streets of Delhi to the cozy kitchens of Karnataka, one humble dish connects India like no other —
Crispy, golden, and indulgent… Poori is not just food — it’s an emotion served hot from your kitchen.
What makes Poori a power move for home chefs is its versatility across India:
✨ North India – Aloo Poori with spicy, tangy potato curry
✨ Gujrat – Poori with aamras, a festive favorite
✨ Karnataka – Saagu Poori, a comforting breakfast classic
✨ Tamil Nadu – Masala Poori with street-style flavors
✨ Bengal – Luchi with cholar dal, soft and rich
Same dough. Endless possibilities.
For home chefs, this is not just a dish — it’s a business opportunity:
* Low investment, high returns – Basic ingredients, strong pricing power
* High demand dish – Perfect for weekends, poojas, bulk orders
* Easy to scale from home – Batch-friendly, quick to produce
* Combo potential – Add 2-3 curries and increase order value instantly
* Emotional selling – “Ghar ka swaad” always wins
Smart home chefs don’t just sell Poori… they create irresistible offerings:
“Sunday Aloo Poori Family Box”
“Festive Poori + Aamras Combo”
“Mini Poori Party Platters for Small Gatherings”
If you're a home chef wondering what can consistently sell without complicating your kitchen — this is your sign.
Because sometimes, the simplest dishes don’t just fill stomachs… they build businesses.

Everyone is scared to talk about this in the F & B industry
as if its a big secret....

Its never addressed and if its spoken about... always in hush hush..

The unspoken word "profit margin"

what does it look like in a Restaurant industry?

well!! the ANSWER is- IT DEPENDS

for QSR is more and for a fine dining could be as low as 3%

for fast-food chains like Wendy's and McDonald's or Rameshwaram Cafe profit margins are much higher than a full service restaurant

so, important question what should Restaurant owners do?

how can they increase the profit margin?

very simple logic by reducing the Restaurant Operation Cost....

such as,
1) Track Inventory
2) Check the Supply Chain
3) Reduce Food Wastage
4) Control Energy Costs
5) Audit your Menu
and, last but not the least
6) Invest in Technology

and never compromise on a great guest experience.

It is non negotiable.

Hope this helps.
