About the Program series
Through a joint initiative of MAHAGAMI GURUKUL, Aurangabad and CII; a unique dance concert series named AURA-AURANGABAD is being launched from 29 Nov 2013 which aims to showcase the rich and diverse heritage of Aurangabad through Indian classical dance performances. Aurangabad region pulsates with many legends of Shiva, Dashavatar, Ramayan, Mahabharat, Buddha, Mahaveer in

the form of sculptures and paintings in Ellora and Ajanta. Also the Daulatabad (Devagiri) Fort, Bibi-ka-Maqbara, Ghrushneshwar Temple, etc have had a rich history of arts and philosophy. A unique dance performance series being presented at MAHAGAMI will bring to life this wide spectrum of legends, master-pieces and monuments through the Indian classical dance forms like Kathak, Odissi, Bharatnatyam, Mohiniattam, Kuchipudi, etc. The program is designed by Parwati Dutta (Director, MAHAGAMI) to cater to the cultural quest of the tourists and guests visiting the city. It will also be of great cultural interest for the local art-lovers. There will be a variety of performances under this unique performance series so as to showcase wide diversity of theme and expression for frequent spectators too. DANCE CONCERTS WILL BE HELD AT MAHAGAMI EVERY FRIDAY, SATURDAY, SUNDAY FROM 7.30 PM TO 8.30 PM

The glorious 9th Season of our CULTURAL TOURISM & HERITAGE INITIATIVE "AURA Aurangabad" is coming to an end. This season witnessed few artistic landmarks like concerts in Heritage sites - Aurangabad caves, Daulatabad Fort, Soneri Mahal, Bibi-ka-Maqbara; Aura-Aurangabad Talks that have been featuring lesser known aspects of Aurangabad Heritage; and Educational Outreach by artists at schools and Universities generating awakening about Heritage arts.

We move towards the culmination of this year's concerts with Kathak at Peer Ismail Rauza Gate (Dr. Maulana Azad Campus) on 17 December, 6.30 pm and at Shiv Temple, Anwa on 18 December 2022, 6.30 pm. It has truly been a historical moment not just for us but for Auranagabad city to present and witness Heritage arts - Odissi and Kathak dance at the magnificent Heritage sites.
