Krav Maga: The Art of Real-World Survival
Featuring the Journey and Legacy of Grandmaster Dr. Lim Beng Kit
Krav Maga, translated from Hebrew as "Contact Combat," was developed for the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) by Imi Lichtenfeld. Designed for practical, real-world application, Krav Maga combines techniques from boxing, wrestling, judo, aikido, and karate, molded into a self-defense system that emphasizes instinctive movements, aggressive counter-attacks, and rapid threat neutralization.
Unlike traditional martial arts that often emphasize form or ritual, Krav Maga is rooted in survival. Its principles include simultaneous defensive and offensive moves, efficiency under pressure, and the idea of neutralizing threats as quickly as possible. Originally forged in military necessity, Krav Maga has since spread globally to law enforcement, intelligence agencies, and civilians seeking self-defense skills. Its motto, often echoed by its practitioners: “So that one may walk in peace.”
