Thoughtful Wednesdays:
There’s happy news!! The unlock 4.0 will now allow weddings with full capacity. The event manager inside me should be dancing with glee. But I am still under a cloud of questions. The questions about our home that we call earth.

I am left thinking as to what is the way ahead? Is Sustainable Events the only way ahead? Can we as a generation afford to be back to normal and carry on as nothing happened? Wasn’t this an enough wake up call for us? Is it our duty as the new age event managers to educate our clients regarding indigenous materials, less wastage, better waste management and so on? The list of questions is unending… but totally worth a thought.

Independence is beautiful word. I feel fortunate to be born in a country where freedom is my birth right. Freedom sure is, the greatest gift of all.

However, somewhere in these 73 years of independence, we seem to have taken this freedom for granted. Conveniently forgetting that freedom equals responsibilities.

We want freedom as long as we don’t have to do anything to earn it.

Ending here with my favorite poetry by Rabindranath Tagor, a small reminder of the connection that exists between freedom and responsibility.

Where knowledge is free,
Where the words come out from the depth of truth,
Where tireless stretches its arms towards perfection!
Into that heaven of freedom, my father,
Let my country awake!!
