I find this situation heartbreaking and urgent. In Ashkelon, young children with disabilities are receiving therapies in makeshift centers that are overcrowded, outdated, and dangerously unprotected during rocket attacks. When conflict escalates, services stop completely at a time in life when every day matters. Chimes Israel is working to change that. While my daughter and I are stranded in France with evacuation probably a week away, my focus is on the people of Israel. Iran killed five more innocent civilians today in Beersheva.

IT IS THE SEASON OF GIVING and I am hoping you will give to Chimes Israel / צ'יימס ישראל Emergency Appeal for a fortified Early Childhood Center for children with disabilities in rocket-beseiged Ashkelon. https://www.chimesisrael.org.il/en/donations/

Please see the video below about the situation. Our current centers are in four inadequately repurposed residential homes. In the event of a security escalation, children and staff have a mere 30 seconds to reach a safe room. The stairs are a serious obstacle for children with mobility challenges, and the protected spaces are too small to hold all the children, much less the children with the staff. One of our locations has no protected area.

Hi. I am writing to ask you to help support a grassroots swimming education project for survivors of the October 7 massacre and Gaza Envelope evacuees who are now staying in hotels at the Dead Sea. My daughter, Ella Azaria, is one of the project’s swim instructors and co-directors.

She tells me that she works with the survivors in the pool every day and sees people with severe anxiety and PTSD finally relax and smile during their lessons. The psychologists volunteering in trauma relief at the Dead Sea hotels encouraged the development of the school for resilience-building and therapeutic support.
