Beyond the Wedding: Where to Spend Your Budget on Extra Celebrations

Your wedding is the centerpiece, but what about the other celebrations? From Sheva Brachot and Shabbat Chatan (Aufruf) to an engagement party, rehearsal dinner, or pre-wedding celebrations, it’s important to prioritize where to allocate your budget—and to find ways your family and community can help!

💡 Sheva Brachot – Traditionally hosted by different friends or family members, keeping costs low. Consider potluck-style meals or a shared venue to make it easy for everyone.

💡 Shabbat Chatan/Kallah – Hosting a kiddush in shul instead of a full meal can help with costs. Family members can sponsor food, and community members can help with setup.

💡 Engagement Party – Keep it simple with a home gathering or a dairy menu. Parents and close friends often help cover costs.

💡 Bachelor/Bachelorette Party – A local spa day, beach trip, or fun potluck night can be budget-friendly.

💡 Rehearsal Dinner – If needed, opt for a relaxed meal at home or a Friday night Shabbat gathering.

With smart planning and community support, you can celebrate without stretching your budget! ✨

A Bar Mitzvah at the Kotel – The perfect blend of meaning and celebration!

There’s something truly special about watching a young man take on his Jewish responsibility in the heart of Jerusalem. The moment at the Kotel, surrounded by family and friends, is filled with emotion, tradition, and the weight of generations before him.

But the celebration doesn’t stop there! After the prayers and the photos at the Western Wall, it’s time to enjoy a beautifully set hall, a delicious meal, and the joy of family coming together. Whether you want something elegant and intimate or a lively, music-filled party, we’re here to make it happen.

We take care of everything – from securing your spot at the Kotel to coordinating every detail of the reception. You focus on the moment, and we’ll handle the rest.

Covid-19 has certainly changed the way that we celebrate.
This picture of a bride, waiting just a few more seconds for her husband to come bring her to their chupa. She's on the phone with her mother who could not fly to Israel to be with her daughter on her wedding day for Covid related reasons.
Tears of joy streaming down her face, she excitedly and happily received a blessing over the phone. I got chills from the energy in the room!

Don't let covid ruin the most special moments of your life. Focus on the good and enjoy yourself like this bride is. Mazel tov!

Another wedding at the kotel!

The Western Wall is a special place for so many people as it physically represents the temple that we so badly yearn for.
It's a dream come true to help so many couples and families to celebrate their weddings and Bar Mitzvahs at this magical and spiritually powerful location.
I hope to see all of Am Israel next year in Jerusalem, and we'll all celebrate at the Western Wall together!!!

The start of a very intimate wedding reception before a chupa.
Simple horderves including these smoked salmon tops crackers with cream cheese and cucumber, champagne, and crudites.

A wedding in the scenic village of kochav hashachar! What a view!

This chupa was made in the backyard of the couple's close friends. We've done many events of this kind lately for a number of reasons, all solving on problem or another caused by "the virus that shall not be named".

Whether it be travel restrictions venue cancellations, budget limitations or any other number of things, we find creative ways to roll with the punches and make fun and special events.

Today was a challenge with covid-19 event regulations in Israel changing as of last night, closing certain areas of the Western Wall plaza to traffic, but we made this hanachar tefillin celebration happen!
We arrived knowing that the chances were high that the intended meal plan would have to be forfeited, so we brought a table with us just in case. This 30 guest baby buffet was meant to be spread out on two tables with spread out seating, but the guests were happy to sit with a wonderful archeological themed view by Dung Gate where me set up a modest but full table with everything that you need for a basic bagel breakfast. The family was thrilled that we were able to pull it off!
